Trinity's POV
(Nine Months Thirty One Days)

I walked down the corridors of the ark. They were quieter than they usually were.

I wasn't carrying anything with me today, except for a few small pieces of jewelry that I could give to Haiden. I know he didn't have to support his mother anymore but hopefully he could splurge and get some more food or something useful.

The day before I thought I heard voices while I had been working my shift, checking in with a few patients and making sure they were stable.

The voice that stood out to me was Haiden. I listened and I heard him tell Clarke "Tell her 'first place, the pin and the same time as always' she should hopefully understand"

I did immediately, but when I went to go out and talk to him, his back was already turned and he was leaving.

I didn't want to run up to him, I only hoped he would turn back around and see me, but he never did, he only kept on walking.

I looked to Clarke who only smiled slyly and said, "I couldn't have him take our new recruit away from us. And plus I wanted to be in on the fun this time."

Why was I summoned anyways? I mean, he had no use for me anymore in any form. I meant nothing. That thought repeated endlessly in the back of my mind as I made my way to the storage room.

Why?

I open the door and quickly stepped inside and closed it behind me. I went through my normal procedure of crawling through the vents and making my way to the storage room.

It was hard to see but I didn't want to bring attention to myself. It was bad enough I took the day off, I didn't need to be caught with a flashlight if someone came looking for me.

I made it to the storage room early and went through my normal routine of popping off the vent cover and then sitting on the floor.

I waited and waited for what felt like ages. It was like time had been slowed to such a slow rate and yet I was the only one who could still move at normal speed.

I heard sliding and I looked up to see Haidens silhouette drop down from the vent. He brushed himself off and let out a sigh, running now his hand through his hair.

"Nice to see you again." He turned around and I giggled. The room seemed bigger and more open then I remembered, but then again I hadn't been down here in months, of course it would feel bigger.

He moved to sit down next to me and when my eyes focused on his face I could see the outline of a smile too. "It's nice to see you too."

"Why did you call me down here?" I blurted out suddenly. Immediately I felt my face flushed red. "I mean, you don't need me anymore so why?"

He was silent for a moment, as if gathering his thoughts before a sigh escaped his lips. He rubbed the back of his neck as he said "Well, things get more difficult from here on out and I wanted to say goodbye."

"Goodbye." I whispered. My voice cracked slightly and my heart began to break.

I knew that he had no use for me anymore but for some reason I didn't think he would come straight and say that. No. I hoped he wouldn't. I clung to that hope so desperately. And even now I hoped that he didn't mean any of it.

"Well, I mean, I'm going to be back to guarding and I've been told I'll be moving up the ranks soon. And you! You're going to be a doctor, an amazing one at that and I mean we'll both be busy and soon we'll get older and-" I cut off his rambling my pushing myself forward and latching onto him with all my might.
