When Link approached the large doors that lead into the temple the symbols lit up with a forest green glow. Then as the symbols fade the large stone doors groan and moan open. Link looked back one last time into the dark tunnel hoping to see Safira giving him a reassuring smile, but she wasn't. He turned forward, took a deep breath, and then heading into the chamber where the vile creature Ganondorf sealed into the Forest Temple.

"Here we go," Link sighs as he takes a deep breath.

"Navi! Are you awake? I need you."

"Yes, sorry for falling asleep earlier," Navi replied.

"That's okay," Link assured her, "you need to rest to."

"Watch out! There's a monster above us!" Navi informs Link, "I have no idea of a weak point yet. Let's lock onto the target."

Link's eyes follow Navi as she flutters to the ceiling. He then sees an enormous dark portal.

"So you have come Hero of Time," a deep, ominous voice chuckles, "let's see how you fair against my phantom."

"Ganondorf!" Link yells, "I'll deal with you and your monsters!"

"We shall see," Ganondorf chuckles, as a dark figure emerges from the portal. It was Phantom Ganon, who was floating around the room.

Link knew just what to do, he got out his bow, strung it, aimed, and released an arrow square into the glowing gem on Phantom Ganon's forehead.

Crying out in pain, he falls to the floor. Link rushes over, putting his bow away and unsheathes the Master Sword. Slashing down on the crack in the gem on Phantom Ganon's forehead, the crack enlarges then shatters in a flash of green light, Phantom Ganon cries out in agony as he dies and fades away.

"Safira's sagely powers are released!" Navi exclaims, "let's go outside to see her!"

"Let's," Link nods They rush out of the temple as fast as they could. Safira was clothed in forest green robes that gave off a slight green radiance. It went along great with her green hair and eyes.

"Fantastic job Link," Safira complements, "now you must go help Domir. Oh, and could you please check up on Lila?"

"Got it and why?" Link ponders with slight fear.

"It was just a feeling," Safira shrugs, "I'd check on her myself but..."

"I'll make sure you're not stuck guarding this temple for the rest of your life," Link says with an understanding smile.

"Thank you so much," Safira smiled as she walked up the steps. When she reached the top she turned around and smiled happily at him, then turned back around and walking into the temple. After she disappeared into the temple, the doors slammed shut.

Link turned around and strode away from the temple and out of the forest. All the people in the city waved him thankful and sad goodbyes, he waved them all back with a confident smile.

Once he was out of the forest entirely Navi zooms into his face, "what's wrong Link? You basically walked right out of there,"

"Sorry," Link sighs, "I'm just worried about Lila. She's Dark Link's friends and well..."

"He joined Ganondorf and you're worried he's going to hurt her physically and emotionally," Navi finished.

"Yeah," Link sighed, "she's his only friend. I know he can't trick her and they fought many times before, both with words and actions."

"Well then," Navi giggles, "let's go see her."

Smiling in agreement, Link whistles for Epona. Almost appearing out of nowhere, Epona trots faithfully to Link's side.

"He still doesn't know," Link sighed as he mounts Epona, "the real reason she awoke as the Sage of Shadow was because of Ganondorf."

"If he knew that," Navi added floating alongside Link as he rode Epona across Hyrule Field, "he would've joined us to save her."

"Exactly," Link nodded, "then Lila wouldn't be alone in the Shadow Temple, or feel bad about sealing Dark Link within the temple."
