"Macqui!" Mom rushed towards me.

"Mom." She hugged me tight.

"Are you sure you're okay? You sure you don't want to get checked?" She held my face with both of her hands.

"I'm okay, stop over reacting." She saw the bruise on my cheek.

"What is this?" She held my cheek. "Don, make it fast. She needs to get cured." I rolled my eyes.

"Cover everything up. I don't want this to be a hot topic tomorrow. I'll sue you kapag may nakalabas na news tungkol dito." Sir Don ordered his lawyer.

"Maj, we'll get going." Pris tapped my shoulder.

"No, I'm coming with you. Mom, let me go." She held my hands tightly. "Mom, look at me, I'm okay! You don't have to overreact." She shook her head.

"No, we'll get you home. We need to talk about this." She firmly said.

"Then, I'll take my friends with me." I said with finality.

I can see on my peripheral vision that Al and Dave were looking at us.

"Maj, we're okay. Sama ka na muna kila tita." Lars smiled at me. "Tita, Tito, sorry about what hap-"

"Let's all go. We'll talk about this when we get home." Sir Don walked away first.

Lars and the others used the Sportage. Jerod and his friends used his Montero while me and my "parents" used the Audi. Tahimik lang sila mommy. Ako, I just look out the window para hindi ma-bore. There's nothing to talk about, really. I didn't ask them to bail me out of jail in the first place. I would've liked it more staying there than be with them.

"What were you thinking, Ma. Jacquiline?!" Sir Don's voice echoed in his spacious office.

Its just me, mom and Jerod. I don't know why Jerod's with us, but I don't care anymore. I just sat there completely silent and staring at the wall.

"Anak, sumagot ka naman kapag kinakausap ka namin." Mom held my hand.

"I'm thinking of calling your archi. You're office's awesome, Sir." Jerod looked at me and his jaw tightened.

"It's this Cleo guy, Dad. He asked Jac to join him race and when the cops came, that guy just disappeared and let Jac handle everything." A crease formed my forehead.

"Wow! Dad? You can call him that? Buti ka pa. Why don't you replace me instead? Ikaw na lang ang anak. I'm sure Sir Don wouldn't mind. And what a nice story Mr. Zaragoza, but I think you're mistaken." I rolled my eyes at him. "You even stalked us."

"Anak, why do you do those stuff? I thought you're doing great in Cali? And that's what you were doing?" Mom looked at me.

"Wow, you speak as if racing was that illegal. Well, that illegal business I'm doing helped me with my expenses for years. You're sending me money which was way lower than our maids' salaries and you expect me to live comfortably in Cali?" My eyes were tearing up.

"Don, you told me you were sending her enough!" Mom looked at Sir Don.

Oh, it looks like mom doesn't know anything about this. Well, hanggang ganyan lang naman si mommy. She can't yell at dad like how I yell at him.

"I did that to teach her a lesson." Sir Don said, expressionless.

"Hah, you teach your daughter a lesson who just lost her child and the precious people around her? I guess sending me out of the country was not enough for you after all." My tears began falling.

"Don't act in front of me, Jacquiline. What you did was still stupid. What if this happened and I was out of the country? This would be a big news in no time! That would give us bad publicity! You should be thankful I bailed you out of that place. I can let you stay there for days if I want to." I smirked at him. "You and your friends."
