"MJ!" Pris called me.

Lara's beside her, lying on the sun lounger and admiring the beauty of Laiya, Batangas. She threw me a glance and winked at me.

"Hey." I smiled at Shaun and Gregory who were sitting beside their girlfriends.

"You're late, Maj." Gregory announced and started putting some sunblock on Lara's back.

"So what? I don't mind being late when it comes to the four of you. I'm always fifth wheeling anyways." They laughed at me as I was approaching them.

"How's your flight?" Lara asked. "I bet you were planning to jump off the plane the whole ride." She made this fist bump with Pris.

"Tss. Stop it. Hindi. I just can't imagine how you two got me to ride the plane when in fact, you guys were not even with me. Ang tanga ko." I stood beside Pris while adjusting my aviators.

"Alam mo, let's just enjoy this. Besides, its your first time coming back here." Pris tapped my shoulder and took off her kimono.

I sat at the vacant sun lounger beside Lara's and took a deep breath. I smiled a bit when I saw Pris and Shaun playing like kids by the seashore.

"I thought you're coming with Lucas?" I smirked at Lara's statement.

"What?! Why would I go here with Lucas? We're not even that close." It made me laugh.

"Bitch. I thought you made out with him, is that what you call "not even close"?" She arched an eyebrow at me.

"Stop it. We only did that once, Lars." I shook my head while smiling.

"I thought you're with Dawson?" Gregory asked.

"What?" A crease formed my forehead. "When was I with someone, Greg? Tell me." Lara laughed.

"Baby, that's Maria Jacquiline Zircon you're talking to. The woman who never settles with anyone." Lara smirked at me.

"Poor Dawson and Lucas." I just glared at both of them.

"Guys, let's go snorkeling!" Shaun motioned for us to get up and walk towards them.

"I can't believe you, guys. You've been visiting Philippines for quite a long time now. Hindi ba kayo nagsasawa sa snorkeling?" I took off my roundee towel and my aviators.

"Nah, Philippines' beautiful. Besides, its my wifey's home. I should be familiar with it." Greg kissed Lara's forehead.

"Oh my gosh. Let's just go snorkeling." I rolled my eyes at them and they both started laughing.

We spent the whole afternoon doing water sports. I was exhausted and went to bed early. I just wish I can sleep soundly tonight.

"Where am I?" I said while clenching the white fabric covering half of my body.

"Macqui.." Mom approached me.

"Mom..ano'ng nangyari? I know I got into an accident but..I'm...I'm.."

"Yes, anak. I know. We'll just call the doctor, okay?" She gave me a hug.

"Excuse me po muna, Mrs. Zaragoza." A nurse showed up.

She began examining me. A doctor entered and immediately looked at me. I'm fighting the urge not to cry. Please...

"Good afternoon." She smiled sadly at me.

"Huwag niyo akong ngitian. Tell me.." Nawala ang ngiti sa labi niya.

"We're very sorry." Umiling siya at kasabay noon ang pag-iling ko rin.

Mom held me tightly as I was forcing myself to get up and attack the doctor. She's lying. I know she is!
