Debbie and Darren go out into the hallway to chat. I am sitting in my desk, laughing and gasping for air, trying to cover my mouth and my laughs with my hand, but there is no use. I have Claire and Cai in this Class, they sat on the other side of the room, I could tell they were both scared and confused about my fit.
Oh my god! Debbie! My teacher! Debbie Hemlock?! Hauhauhauhau! Can you even believe it?! My love rival being my teacher? Oh I can't... This is too good!
When I finally finish laughing - I'm also in utter tears - Darren and Debbie come in. Darren asks me what is wrong when he sees my red puffy eyes and tear stained cheeks. I shrug him a way as if I didn't just forgive him for earlier.
As I was opening my locker to stuff my text books in - my bag isn't big enough - I sigh and think about how stupid it was for me to suddenly start laughing like that earlier.
I shut my locker with a loud slam and walk out the school.
When I get to the hotel Darren is already there.
"What took so long?" Darren asks.
"Nothing~" I laugh.
"Ok..." Darren says.
"Well, Darren is going over to Debbie's today." Larten says.
"Seriously?" My already ready to explode self explodes. "What if she is working with the vampaneze?!"
"She wouldn't!" Darren yells.
"Its strange how she happens to be our English teacher!"
"Yes, but it can't be that bad.".
"But it can!"
"Calm down." Larten says. "Let's think of this reasonably."
"You shouldn't go." I say.
"But I want to, I haven't seen her in 13 years."
"Would you do that same to Alan, Tommy, or Steve?"
"What do you mean?"
"Would you spend the day catching up?"
"Of course."
"Fine, I'm not going to your funeral though."
"I won't die!!"
"You never know." I smile.
"Whatever."
"We will watch from outside in case something happens." Larten says.
"What?! No way!" I yell.
"Yes, he is an important figure, if we do not he will die." Larten says. "Possibly die."
"Fine." I growl. "So she is gonna want to know why you look exactly the same. What are we gonna do about that?"
"I'll tell her it was a disorder that I was born with, that only activated when I turned 12, so it slows my aging process."
"Ummm... OK." I say, yawning at his land story.
"OK, we must go now, it is already getting to be sunset." Larten says.
"What about Harkat?" I ask.
"What about him?" Darren asks.
"He can't be seen, if he is then people will freak out."
"True..." Larten says.
"I'm right here you know." Harkat says.
"Well, we can just wing it and try to get him to the back. Larten can stay in the front and watch from there."
"Sounds good. We will come if we hear a struggle." Larten says.
"Right." And we head to Debbie's.
Larten on the roof across the street and Harkat and I behind the apartments where she lives."This is gonna be boring." I groan.
"Don't be jealous."
"How? I have known Darren for 21 years and he chooses her over me."
He doesn't say anything. "Well, it's love."
"Love. That's a loud of crap. He loves me but doesn't act like that to me."
"That's a different type of love."
"Still love."
He sighs. "You're too stubborn."
"I know."
We spend another hour or two there then Darren and Larten come get us. Larten looked...distracted.
"Whats wrong?" Darren asks.
"I got a transmission from Mika, Paris has died."
"What?!" Darren yells. "Let's go to the mountain now!"
"No, you have to stay here and go to school."
"No I wa-"
"You're a prince, one must not be present when the others are. The other three are already there. It is not fair to have one trade for you."
"Oh, right... Fine I won't go."
"Can I go?" I ask.
"No you must go to school with Darren."
"To Hell with that idea! Darren can just tell them I had to go see my mom for awhile. I'll be back in maybe a week or two."
"Will that work?" Harkat asks.
"Probably." I shrug.
"Well, I will stay here with Darren." Harkat says.
"Let's go then." Larten says. "I want to get there as fast as possible."
"Wait...can I change clothes? I don't want to be in my school uniform while in a freezing forest."
"Well of course." He sighs.
We both head to the hotel in a rush I quickly change into a pair of black jeans and a cashmere black shirt with my usual black ankle boots.
"Let's go." I yawn as we exit the building and make our way to the mountain.
