"Crap! Crap! Crap! Crap!" I chant as I sprint through the field of very flammable grass with the fire breathing dragon chasing after us. When I say I've never, in my entire life, been this scared I mean it. I've been through a lot of life or death situations, but without a single doubt this takes the cake.
"Tux calm down!" Darren yells as he makes it to my side. Even after all these years, I still haven't quite processed that he's faster than me now. If he wanted to he could pick me up and still be faster than I am.
"You expect me to be calm when we are being chased by giant fire-breathing reptile is chasing us?!"
"She has a point." Harkat laughs.
As we give up and quickly make our way back to the blonde haired guy we brace ourselves for a firy death. All four of us huddled together prepared to die here and now...luckily and awesomely pur end never comes.
"Tight timing, boys! I didn't expect it to get that close to the wire! A thrilling finale! Most satisfying!" A booming voice yells. We all separate from our tiny circle and come eye to snout with theale dragon. One top of said snout is a short brightly dressed man - Mr. Tiny.
For once in my existence I ignore the "boy" comment and gulp at the sight of him. I guess my fear of him is still here.
"Have no fear. I stopped time. The dragons can not harm you."
I look at Harkat's old self and smile.
"Kurda Smahlt," I say, my smile becoming more forced as the name exits my chapped lips. I wrap my arms around myself as I brace myself for the encounter. His reaction could be anything from anger to sadness, he's dead because of us after all.
He looks at me, with those ever familiar eyes. It sends chills down my spine, last time I saw them they were filled with intelligence and determination, now they were dull and lifeless though. He stares right passed me, he looks beyond that and into my soul.
Mr. Tiny gave him some old rags to wear, effectively making him look like a homeless person. It's a stark contrast to the way he used to dress in those long white robes designed for human kings.
"Is this really who Harkat used to be?" I ask, wary that this could be an illusion. I don't think Tiny to be the type to play such a cruel prank, but this world is filled with tricks and I'd like to be careful.
"Yes." Mr. Tiny answers, "It is. Are you disappointed?" He presses, an abnormal amount of curiosity in his tone. I thought that he knows everything?
"Not in the slightest," I say looking from Tiny to Kurda, "I am actually happy it turned out to be him...I mean, my guess was correct."
"It was," Tiny confirms, "if anyone were to get it, it's be you for certain."
I nod my head and leave it at that. I'm not Tiny's biggest fan, everyone knows that. I smile a little brighter as Kurda glance up at me, he has yearning in his gaze, like he want to say something but can't bring himself to say it.
"Wait," Harkat yells. He drops the panthers teeth onto the ground and spells out Kurda Smahlt. "Sly bastard..." He mumbles under his breath, but I'm positive Tiny heard him.
"Miss Alicia, about your arm..." Mr. Tiny hands me some bandages.
"Can't you, like, actually heal it with some magic?" I try to glare at him, but it looks more like a flinch.
"I do not use my power in such foolish ways," He taunts, a smirk present on his fat face.
I scoff at his reaction, "You just don't want to..." I wrap my arm, not bothering to take out the glass, I'm definitely gonna get the infected or something. "It really was a shame that Spits died the way he did."
