"My couch." I whine once I finally regain my sanity - if that is even possible.
"Aw, great." Vancha says. "She's been whiney the entire time back! Look what you did!"
"Whiney about what?" Darren asks.
Vancha shoots a quick glare at me before turning back to Darren, "She has been complaining and pestering us about you being left here without her - your best friend."
I pop a vein, "I'm sorry I was worried! At least while he was in Vampire Mountain I knew he was safe and sound withing the Hall of Princes!" I snap.
"Maybe, but still. We told you he'd be alright."
"And you also told me we'd be here by last week, look where that ended up." I retort.
"At least I'm not a whiney spoiled brat."
"'Whiney spoiled brat'?! At least I'm not a disgusting vile toe-picking vampire!"
He laughs at that one, "Touché." He finishes off our argument with that one simple word.
Steve and the others chuckle at our little fight and soon after we all went off to sleep.
When I wake up in the morning I eye the time illuminating from my phone screen and groan at the numbers - 6:15.
I stand up off the comfortable couch and head to the bathroom to take a quick shower. When I am out I see it is now 6:45.
So an hour to waste away, huh? I head to the small kitchen area and start to make a quick sandwhich for breakfast.
Seeing as how this is pointless and I'm bit even gonna eat it I leave it on the table and assume someone else will just eat it later.
I run out of the hotel and to the school, dressed in the school uniform, my usual black hat, scarf, and drawstring backpack while carrying my black school bag.
When I get to school, a lot of people surround me, utterly confusing me.
"You're OK!" Smickey yells as he consumes me with a hug soon after Cai, Clair, and Katie.
"Yeah." I smile.
"Where have you been!?" Cai asks, "I mean, Darren told us you were at your moms! By why Sol on?!"
"A lot of stuff kept popping up."
"Oh, how about Darren? How is he?" Katie asks.
"Huh?" I ask.
"He hasn't been in school for a Week, wait...you didn't know that?"
I brush off her question and press my own, "A week! Five full days a week? Or just two or three?" I growl.
"Five." Clair confirms, "You didn't know?"
"No, he must have been spending a lot of time with my uncle... Steve he must be having trouble handling what happened at my moms."
"Oh what happened?!" Katie asks, worried as all can be.
"My grandpa, Paris, died. That's why I went to my moms. I had to help her plan the funeral and all that crap."
"That's horrible! Was he murdered by those killers?" Cai asks.
"No... A bear got him." Which was true, Paris snuck away from the mountain in the middle of the day and died at the claws of a bear.
"A bear?"
"Yeah..."
"Quit pestering the girl." Smickey says. "She's probably tired."
