"What the actual living crap is that?!" I whisper-yell.
The thing was at least twenty feet tall. It was huge and fat and was like a slug. All over its body was covered in pale human hands - maybe two hundred at the minimum. It had long sharp long fangs and a long tongue. It had puss and sweat oozing out of its body. It was a peach color and looked as if it could've been human at one point in time - hundreds of years ago maybe.
I almost vomit at the sheer sight of it. Darren as well.
I mean, who wouldn't after looking at that being?!
The thing comes out of the temple and eats one of the people! But the people were fine about it. As if this was planned. This must be a special ceremony... A sacrificial ceremony. I guess these people worship this monster.
Then one of the people went up and collected some sort of red liquid from one of the creatures fangs.
"I have a feeling that's the holy liquid Evanna was talking about." Darren says.
I nod and we look at the temple to see that they were already heading inside.
"Oh." I say.
"We have to head after them." Darren says.
"Huh?!" Spits yells. "Are ye mad?! That thing will eat ye for puddin'!"
"I don't know." Darren says. "It eats like a snake. Snakes usually sleep while digesting."
"That... thing clearly was not a snake." I say. "We dont know what it's eating habits are."
"They're coming out of... the temple." Harkat says pointing to the temple.
None of them are holding the liquid.
"They must be keeping it inside." Darren reads my mind.
"We should go in and find it."
"Or we could try to talk to the... people." Harkat says.
"Will they even understand us?" Darren asks.
"Right... sorry." Harkat says.
"Well I ain't gonna chuck my life away on a crazy thing like this! I'll wait out here." Spits snarls.
"We'll be back." Darren says.
After the people leave Darren, Harkat, and I head into the temple.
The only thought I have is, "I do not want to meet that creature."
