I groan as I wake up to the sound of a door opening and shutting. Groggily opening my eyes I see the brunette walking over to his hammock.
"Hey..." I say as I sit up."Hey..."
"What you dong?'
"Seba, Kurda, Gavner and I are going somewhere and I needed to grab something."
"What'd you need to grab?"
"My dignity." He jokes, "Want to come?"
He completely ignore my question and so smoothly too! Who is this child standing before me?!
"Uh, sure." I smile, brushing off my previous thought.
With that and a slight awkward silence we leave to find and meet up with the others.
We meet up with them right at the gate to the halls.
"Wait... We're leaving?" I ask, it's too soon to leave, we still have so much more to do here Darren still needs to finish his trials and- and-
Kurda laughs, "We'll be right back we just need to go to a storage room."
"And why aren't the storage rooms within the gates?" I ask.
"Don't worry, puppy." Gavner says patting my head.
I glare at him, "Just because I am a wolf doesn't mean you can call me that!" I snap slapping his hand away. Forgetting about my question we set off to this storage room.
I assume it is still well within the mountain, but I'm still uneasy about all this.
Yep I'm definitely uneasy now! Crawling through a dark cramped spider-webbed and rocky tunnel is not how I expected this adventure to go. My knees are being scraped across the ground of the cave floor and are getting tiny bits of rock and dirt lodged into my skin of my hands and knees.
Though there wasn't much I could complain about really, Darren and I could easily maneuver our way through the tiny passage, but the bigger stronger vampires were not so lucky.
This is the only time I've ever been happy for still looking as young as Darren and flat as a board.
As we enter a dark cave the tunnel we just crawled through grows and we are able to stand and stretch our legs, finally!
A bit of walking in the dark goes on - bumping into a lot of things along the way - and I hear that the other stop walking so I stop walking as well.
"Shhh, be quiet." A deep voice whispers.
"Where are we? It's too dark to see." I whisper.
"Don't move, you might kills them." The same voice replies - finally realizing the voice is Seba.
"'Them'" I ask, terrified now.
"Spiders. Ba'Halen spiders. They live in this mountain and live here." The vampire explains.
"They look so cool." Darren says.
"I can't see." I complain.
"Oh yeah, she's still human, let me light a match..." Kurda says.
"No the dust will catch fire."
I feel something on my feet and almost scream, before realizing it is probably the spiders.
"This is horrible. I'm being touched by a thing I can't even see." I whine.
"Oh I'm sorry princess. Do you want go be carried?" Darren asks, I think.
"Shut uuuup."
"Let us hurry grab what we nerd and go back to the halls." Sena says.
"Yes please." I say.
They rummage through some boxes before leaving back through the tiny hole.
After getting past the tunnel a second time we are in front of the large gates to the halls.
"Oh while we are here, would you two like to see the hall of Final Voyage?" Kurda asks.
"Yes." Darren and I say in unison.
On our way there - seeing how Darren wasn't gonna ask - I say, "What is the Hall of Final Voyage?"
"It is an old hall where we used to send vampires that does within the mountain down a very very fast waterfall." Gavner explains.
Walking into the large room it is sort of hard not to notice the loud runny water of within.
It was very large and very fast. If someone were to fall in they wouldn't make it out alive, that I known for sure.
There was a white pale man on the opposite side of the fall from us. He went into a door that was near him.
"Who was that?" Darren asks.
"He's a guardian of blood." Seba says. "He - and many others like him - prepare the dead. They drain the blood from them and cremate them. They also take out the organs."
"Why would they take out the organs?" I ask.
"They take the organs and put it in jars and other containers. They eat the organs for special occasions."
"What?!" Darren and I yell in unison.
"I did not know this." Gavner says, grimly.
"Nor have I." Kurda says.
"I know quite a bit about these beings. But that's for another time. The hall of Final Voyage is where we used to send the dead, until they got stuck." Seba says.
"Stuck?" Darren asks.
"Many centuries ago there was a war, many of our comrades died, we sent them down there - despite how difficult it was to get them all up here just to send them back down. There were too many and they all got stuck on the way down. A group of vampires had to go down and unclog it."
"Eww." I say, shivering at the thought.
We walk back to the other halls. Everyone was still dancing and eating, I went into my cell and lied in my hammock. I could hear the loud clanging of drums and makeshift guitars from my room - I admit for a group such as vampires they were pretty hood at playing.
It took me hours to fall asleep, not that isn't normal, but the noise certainly didn't help. After enough time I start to drift off into a dreamless sleep. But of course it was too late, it was already night again and we had to go and celebrate some more.
I sat in that spot I sat in the night before, and fell asleep.
I woke up a little later in my hammock, smiling, I fell back asleep without a single problem.
