We wait for Vancha to return with with Shancus. After Steve, R.V., and Gannen fled he broke some boards and made a bridge to go across.

He came back with the bloodied boy and handed him over to his father.

My heart shatters even more watching the pained expression on his face.

Evra cries, screams, wails, and even curses.

I have an endless stream of tears on my face...why did he disobey me?!

I sniffle a few times as I turn to Darius, who was also crying.

He didn't know his father was a monster, and I guess now he knows...

I quickly ruffle his hair and give the kid a reassuring smile.

I realize the feeling of dread never leaves.

Sure Shancus and Mr. Tall just died, but I still feel the death in the air. Something else happens today...

Darren turns to Darius. "Go home." He snaps. "Go back to Annie and forget all this."

Vancha shakes his head. "Its not that easy."

"What do you mean?"

"Can't you tell? He's a vampaneze."

"So eventually the need for blood will come over him..." I say. "I guess he can never leave us now...we have to take are of him."

"Are you crazy?!" Evra snaps, "He is the child of the monster that killed my son and you want to protect him?!" Evra snaps, "Whatever...I'm going...back to the Cirque."

"Me too." Debbie says.

"I will go as well." Harkat says.

I nod. "I would like to. Darren. Be careful. I sense something is wrong." I look at Darius before smiling. "And you be OK too. We don't want your mom to be worried."

They both nod as we walk away from the theater.

We head to the Cirque in silence. A sad, cruel silence.

When we arrived at the Cirque there was nobody around. We walked into the old stadium that the Cirque was staying at.

This place was an old hang out for the others to play soccer. I wasn't allowed to tag along, but some days I snuck out and watched. They all swore to be on the same soccer team when they grew up so it was no surprise they would practice as if it were professional.

When we walked into the stadium it was not a peaceful scene...of course it wasn't. The freaks were be pushed back away from Steve and the exits by some vampets. In one quick push a vampet pushes Harkat, Evra, Debbie and I into the group of circus workers.

Evra quickly shot a glare at me without a second thought and hugged and explained everything to his wife - their kids were shaking in her arms.

Merla was angry, I could faintly hear incoherent curse words under her breath.

I look at Tommy with worried eyes before going over to him and ordering him around, "I want you to hide."

"What? No way." He practically hisses.

"Look, I know this is confusing and you do want to help your old friends, but...this wouldn't be the way to. If - or - when fighting breaks out I want you to find a great place to hide. Don't make an obvious choice like in an old tent or van. Maybe...maybe hiding near the Wolf-Man. If they go near you threaten to release the beast and they should back away. If they do not...then you nay actually get to fight. Under no circumstance can you fight unless they are not backing away, got it?"
