"I'm gonna wish I had a storm warning... I'm gonna wish I had a sign... A little heads up, little leeway, a little more time... Some kind of radar system locked in on love...." -Hunter Hayes
Kay's POV:
It was two in the morning, and I couldn't sleep! The sound of thunder and lightening filled the room. I kept tossing and turning, trying to block the noise out, but it wasn't working. "Are you awake sweetie?" I heard Hunter whisper. I rolled over to face him. "Yeah. The storm is keeping me up." I said. "Me too." He replied. "Well it's two in the morning! We went to bed at midnight. We shouldn't be up right now, we have a long trip home today!" I told him. "True, but sleep is overrated anyway." He said with a laugh. Another loud boom of thunder caused us both to jump. "How are we supposed to drive home in weather like this?! It's pouring, and windy!" "We'll just have to be careful." Hunter said. "It makes it interesting!" I said with a giggle. "Very! Especially because I'm telling Sam to drive..." He said with a wink. "Sam is a good driver! I trust him!" I defended. "He's alot more careful when it's the four of us are in the car. But when it's the two us, not so much." He said with a laugh. "Oh, well he's probably EXTRA careful when Adi and I are in the car because he knows you'd freak out if he let something happen." I said with a giggle. "You got that right." He agreed. I snuggled even closer toward Hunter and buried my face in his chest. "I wish that stupid storm would let me get some sleep!" I said with a giggle. "I wish I could make it go away.... For the both of us." He said through laughter. I began to giggle uncontrollably with him. "I love the way you laugh." He told me. I looked up at him as he grinned down at me. "And I love the way you smile." He leaned down and kissed me. He pulled away and looked at me as he ran his fingers thorough my hair. "Were you nervous when we met?" He asked. "A little, but it wasn't because I had just met you, it was because I started falling for, right then and there..." He grabbed my hand and began playing with my fingers. "I was nervous too..." He admitted. I looked up at him in shock. "You were nervous? I was the one standing in front of my country idol! I was just another girl who was one of your biggest fans." He laughed. "To me, you weren't just 'another girl'. There was something about you, that stood out to me, something that I loved." "Oh really?" "Uh huh." He said with a grin. "And that was?" "Your personality. Your laughter, and your beautiful smile. All of those things drew me to you, that's how I knew.... I was already falling for you too..." "Who knew, that those five minutes on the beach that morning, would lead us to where we are now, it's surreal!" "That it is." He said as he leaned down to kiss me. "I love you" He said through kisses. "I love you more." I replied with a little giggle. "No way!" He whispered as he pulled away. "Yes way!" I said after kissing his cheek. Hunter rolled onto his side and brought me into his arms. "What time is it?" I asked. "4:22" he replied. "Ugh! It sucks not being able to sleep." "Agreed." He said. I decided to put my headphones on, it helps sometimes. "Can I have this side?" Hunter asked as he grabbed one of the earbuds. "Sure!" I said as I put one in my ear. I put my music on shuffle and "Goodbye Girl" by Luke Bryan began playing. I snuggled closer towards Hunter and wrapped a blanket around us. Just as we were beginning to get lost in the music and fall back asleep, Hunter's phone started ringing. "Who the heck is calling you at four In the morning?" I asked as we took our earbuds out.
Hunter's POV:
"That's a really good question beautiful!" I said as I rolled over to reach for my phone. I looked at the caller ID to see Sam's face on the screen. "Who is it?" Kay asked. "Samuel..." I said with an eye roll. She just laughed at my sarcastic tone. "Hello?" I said once I answered. "Hey Hunter! Are you and Kay awake?" Sam asked. "Yes, we're awake." I replied. "Can Adi and I come sit in your room?" He asked. I looked at Kay who nodded her head in approval. "Uh, sure!" I told him. "Ok, we'll be right over." Without saying another word, Sam hung up the phone. "Well I guess we're going to have company." I said as I brought Kay back into my arms. "I enjoy being with Adi and Sam! Don't you?" She asked. "Of course!! I love both of them so much, but I like to have our alone time too!" I told her. "Just think, once you move into your new apartment, we can have plenty of alone time. I promise!" She said with a smile. "Ok." I said before leaning down to kiss her. Before we knew it, Sam and Adi walked through the door. "Good Morning!" Sam and Adi said with an excited tone. "Well aren't you two just bright eyed and bushy tailed this morning!" I told them, my voice in the same tone. "Do you think we'll be able to drive home in this weather?" Adi asked me. "You'll have to ask Sam, because he's driving back." I said with a grin. "Oh I am?" He asked in surprise. "Well unless Adi wants to drive?" I asked. "Looks like your driving Sam!" Adi told him with a giggle. "Why me?!" He asked. "I drove down, Kay can't drive right now, and Adi doesn't want to, so that leaves you." "Ok fine." He said. "So Sam? Will we be able to go home today?" Adi asked him. "Most definitely!" Sam said with confidence. His comment got followed by a loud boom of thunder and a crash of lightening. All of us jumped. "Are you positive?" Kay and Adi in unison. "Look, I'll be In the car, so if anything goes wrong, I'll save us!" I told them. "Ok...." The girls said. "I have confidence that we make it home with absolutely no problems!" Sam said. "So when are we planning to leave?" Adi asked. "Whenever!" Kay said. "Well since I'm driving, maybe we could leave around ten this morning?" Sam said. "Sounds good." I said. "That's fine with me!" Kay agreed.
