"Southern girl rock my world, hazel eyes and golden curls.... Put on a country song, we'll dance all night long..." -Tim McGraw
Hunter's POV:
I woke up to the sound of my alarm clock going off in my phone. I groaned as I rolled over and hit the snooze button, it was only six in the moring. Adi and Sam called us last night out of no where and said we should go to Boston for the weekend. They got tickets to a Red Sox game, it was scheduled for tonight. Kay and I agreed, It'll be a mini vacation, who can resist that? I smiled as rolled back over to see Kay slowly begining to wake up, she opened her eyes and smiled up at me. "Good morning beautiful." I told her with a smile. "Good morning." She replied with a sleepy smile as she scooted back in to my arms and laid her head on my chest. These are honestly the times I enjoyed most. Just lying here with her in my ams, watching as she snuggled herself even closer to me. I couldn't be more proud of her, and the way she chose to stay strong, when she could easily to choose to be sad or angry for her current struggle. Instead, she chose to stay the happy and bubbly girl that all of her friends and family loved about her, and to me, that was amazing. She looked up at me and giggled. "What are you thinking about Crazy Hayes?" "How do you know I'm thinking about something?" I asked with a grin. "Because I know you." She replied. She knew me better than I knew myself sometimes, that is one of many things I love about her. "Just tell me...." She said with a giggle as she grabbed my hand and held it in hers. We both sat up and I pulled her into my lap. "Do you know how proud I am of you?" I asked her. "Why? I haven't done anything!" "Are you kidding me? You are amazing!" I said in shock. She looked at me, confused. "Thank you. But why?" "You have been so brave this past month. Anyone else may be angry and depressed in this type of situiation. You're anything but that. I am so proud of you and amazed by that." She smiled as she wrapped her arms around my neck. "I'm staying happy and positive because of all the AMAZING people that are around me! If it weren't for you, and Adi, and Sam, and all the support from my family, my attitude could've been different. I am so lucky to have all of the support that I do. I honestly don't know what I'd be like without it." "I love you so much Honeybee." I said with a smile as I leaned in to kiss her. "I love you too Crazy Hayes." She replied before my lips touched hers. She smiled as we pulled away. "We should probably get ready. Sam and Adi should be here in about in hour." I said. Thankfully, we packed our bags last night. All we had to do this morning, was get dressed and wait for Adi and Sam. We are all taking one car. "Ok." She replied with a smile.
Kay's POV
I was able to get myself in my wheelchair, and wheel to my closet, I was pretty proud of that, considering I just got out of the hospital yesterday. I picked out my Red Sox gear, it included a long sleeve shirt that said, "Boston Red Sox" and a hat with their logo on it. I also wore my skinny jeans and gray Ugg boots. After that, I wheeled into the bathroom and lightly curled my hair and pulled into a ponytail will a braid on one side. After that, I put on natural looking makeup, grabbed my sunglasses and I was ready to go. "Ok Hunter, you ready?" I yelled into the bedroom. "Yep!" He said as he walked out, coming towards me. "You look cute today!" He told me. "So do you!" I said with a giggle. He had on his navy blue t-shirt with black skinny jeans, red converse and his Red Sox hat. "Thank you!" He said. We both laughed. Hunter helped me get back on the bed, and then brought the wheelchair downstairs. Hopefully I can start trying to walk soon, it'll make it easier on both of us. When he came back up to my room, he sat down next to me on the edge of the bed. I leaned my head on his shoulder. "You're the best." I told him as I held his hand in mine. "Thanks sweetheart. But I think you're better..." I giggled at how confident he sounded. "Oh really?!" I asked. "Yep. Really!" "Whatever you say Crazy Hayes." I said with a wink. We both smiled as leaned down and kissed me. "I love you." He told me, his face still close to mine. "I love you too." I replied with a smile. After a few more minutes, Hunter stood up and scooped me up in his arms, and carried me downstairs. I sat in my wheelchair and before we knew it, there was a knock at the door. I wheeled over and twisted the door knob. It was Adi and Sam. "Hey Kay!" They said in unison as they walked through the door. "Hey you too!" I replied with excitement. "You look cute today!" Adi said with a smile. "Awe thanks Adi! So do you!" She had on a white shirt that said "Red Sox" on it, with jeans and her red Vans, with a bracelet that had Red Sox charms on it. Her hair was pulled back into a loose braid. "Ok, whose car are we taking?" Sam asked. "Ask Hunter." Adi and I said in unison. We giggled at how we always say things at the same time. "We can take mine! I don't care." Hunter said. "Ok! We should pack the car and get out of here." Sam said. With that, the guys went outside to pack the car. Adi and went out to wait for them. Soon, they were finished and Hunter helped me get into the car. Adi and I sat in back, Sam and Hunter were in front. "Who wants Starbucks?!" Hunter asked all of us as we drove off. "We do!" Adi and replied with a grin. I got a Vanilla bean Frappochino with whip cream, Adi got a java chip Frappochino with whip cream. Both of the guys got iced coffee. Soon, we were on the turnpike, headed to Boston.
