Fanfic: Part 41: Crash My Party

"If you wanna call me, call me, call me.

You don't have to worry 'bout it baby.

You can wake me up in the dead of the night; Wreck my plans, baby that's alright..." - Luke Bryan

Kay's POV:

"Welcome home!" I said with excitement as I rolled through the door of Hunter's new apartment. He came in behind me and closed the door. "Ahhh, it's good to finally live here." Hunter said while looking around, taking everything in. Hunter had gone to Nashville for a few days to attend his Grandfather's service, and had just gotten back to Maine a few hours ago. I couldn't go with him because I had to start Physical Therapy. My doctors said it wouldn't be a good idea if I missed it, but now... Hunter is back in Maine, things are finally starting to calm down a little, and we can look ahead to our future together, and all of the excitement that goes along with it. Hunter and I agreed that now is the time to focus on us, and not worry about the little things, because you never know when everything could come crashing to an end. "You know what I'm most excited about?!" Hunter asked as he knelt down to my level, pulling me out of my thoughts. "What?!" I asked with a smile. "To get some quality time, when it's just the two of us!" He said. "Yeah, that does sounds good." I replied. He smiled. "Do you have any plans with Adi later?" He asked me. "Nope. As far as I know, her and Sam are hanging out!" I said. "Finally, we can get some alone time!" Hunter said. "Oh, admit it, you love hanging out with Adi and Sam!" I said with a grin. "I do, but I miss having those times when it's just the two of us!" He replied. "We are going to have more of that now, I promise." I told him with a smile. "Ok." He said, he voice filled with satisfaction.

I giggled as scooped me up into his arms and gave me a kiss. "I love you." He whispered. "I love you too!" I replied. He put me down on the couch and then sat down next to me. I laid my head in his lap and he looked down at me, smiling. I grabbed his hand and held it in mine, thinking about how much I enjoyed just being here with him. "I could get used to this." He told me, running is fingers through my hair. I looked up at him. "Me too." I replied. "I can't wait for you to move in here with me." He said. "I know, same here. Just think graduation is six months away, then I'll be living here all the time." I said. "Counting down the days!" He replied, winking at me. I just giggled.

Hunter's POV:

I guess both Kay and I had fallen asleep on the couch, because I looked at the time to see it was almost four o'clock already! I laughed a little when I looked down to see Kay sleeping with a blanket covering her. She moved a little, moving into a more comfortable position. I heard a moan escape her throat as she began waking up. She opened her eyes and looked up at me. "How long was I asleep?" She asked, still sounding a little sleepy. "I think a few hours. I fell asleep too." I confessed. We both laughed. "I am gonna go make a coffee, you want one?" She asked me. "Well DUH!!!" I said with a wink. She grinned. "Ok, I'll be right back." She said. When Kay came back, she had two coffee cups. "Here you go." She said with a smile. She got back out of her wheelchair and onto the couch. "Thank you." I told her before leaning in for a kiss. "You're welcome." She replied.

Kay's POV:

"So my doctors said I could go back to school in a couple of weeks..." I told Hunter. "Really?! That's good!" He replied. "Yeah, I think so, I'm just a little nervous!" I admitted. "Why?" He asked before sipping his coffee. "I guess it's just because of what happened when my friends came over last week. I'm a little afraid that people will look at me differently, almost as a new person, and not for the person I still am." "Yeah, that's understandable, but I know you. You'll show them that you are just as strong, if not stronger than you were before the accident happened." I smiled. "You're right." I said, "you are so right..." "I know!" He said jokingly. We both laughed. "So what should we do with the rest of our night?" He asked me. I thought about it for a minute. "Ohh! I have a good idea..." I said with a grin. "What would that be?" He asked in curiosity. "We can play scrabble!" I told him. "Scrabble? Seriously?" He asked. "I'm dead serious!" I said with a giggle. "Ok then," He said with a little laugh, "scrabble it is!" "Yay!!" I said with a grin. With that, I took out the board game and set it up on the coffee table. "Now, just so you know, this is one game where I can get really competitive... So be prepared." I told him with a wink. "Hmmm.. I think I'm gonna win!" He said with a grin. "Bring it on Crazy Hayes! You can go first." "Ok!" With that, he played the word, "Come". He got five points. "Beat that!" He said jokingly. I thought about it for a minute, and then played the word, "Colors." I got eight points. "I'm winning!" I said with a giggle. "Yeah yeah, I am still going to beat you!" He told me in confidence. "Ok Crazy Hayes!" I said, in the same tone.

Kay's POV:

Just as the game was getting really interesting, the front door swung open and Sam and Adi bursted through the door. "PARTY TIME!!" Sam screamed in excitement. It made me jump, which caused all of the board game tiles to fall all over the floor. "Sam? Adi?! What are you two doing here?" I asked them. "We came to check out Hunter's new place, and party!!!" Sam said in excitement. Hunter and I looked at each other, and then back at Adi and Sam. "You two sure know how to celebrate!" Adi said sarcastically with a giggle. I just winked at her. "Sam could you help me clean up all the pieces?" Hunter asked him. "Sure!" He said, walking towards the table. Before any of us knew it, Sam slipped on the game piece and went crashing to the floor. All of us broke into loud laughter. "I'm ok!" He called out. Hunter helped Sam up from the floor, and then they picked up all of the scrabble tiles. Once they were done we all sat down in the living room. "This is a really nice place Hunter!" Adi said, looking around. "Thank you!" He replied.

Hunter's POV:

All of us talked for hours until finally we were all exhausted. Adi was going to drive Kay home. "Ok, well I'm tired. I think I'm ready to go home!" Kay said through a yawn. "Same here!" Adi said in agreement. "Adi and I will go start the car, just come on out whenever your ready Kay!" Sam said. "Ok, just give me a few minutes!" She replied. "No problem!" Adi said. With that, they went out the door and waited in the car. "I'll miss you!" I told Kay. "I'll miss you too, but I'll be back before you know I'm gone!" Kay said as she rolled towards the door. "Ok." I said as I knelt down to her level. "I love you." She said. "I love you too Honeybee." She smiled as I leaned in and have her a passionate kiss. "Goodnight." She whispered. "Goodnight." I replied in the same tone. With that she rolled out the door. She looked back at me and smiled, waving goodbye. "See you tomorrow!" She said. I grinned and replied, "you bet..."
