You drew another cross on the wall of your room. You had lost count and you weren't sure if you had enough time to count all the crosses on the wall once more. You just knew that another day had passed without Murphy coming back to the camp.

"(Y/N)?"

You froze when you heard your name. Great, now you were also starting to hallucinate. You slowly turned around, while your heart was beating in your chest.

There he stood. His hair was longer than you remembered and his skin was dirty and blooded.

"Murphy?" You whispered, slowly walking towards him, still doubting if this was John Murphy finally being back or your own mind playing a sick game with you. When you were close enough to him, you stood still and reached out your hand.

"Don't touch me!" Murphy yelled and he pushed your hand away before it touched his cheek.

A smile spread across your face. "Murphy!" You crossed your arms over your chest and you shook your head. "You have no idea how glad I am you're back." You saw how he stared at all the red crosses on the wall.

"Well, I think I do have an idea." He walked past you and he placed his hand on the cold, grey walls. "Don't you think this is a little dramatic?" He turned around but for the first time since you had seen him again he was smiling.

"Maybe..." You admitted and you felt a warmth spreading itself through your body. "But I also think you deserved it." You paused for a short moment. "You deserved something missing you and you deserved someone being hopeful that you would come back one day."
