"Elijah?" You recognized the figure that was slumped against the wall... you just weren't used to see him this vulnerable.
"What happened?" You ran towards him, kneeling at his side, trying to make him look at you.

The moment he recognized your voice, he looked up, even when it already looked painful.
"Lucien. The traiterous, little..." He didn't finish his sentence, believing he shold spare you the details, as he had always done.

"He was a traitor after all?" You couldn't say you were that surprised, even when he had managed to win even your trust lately. You checked Elijah again, worried about how weak he looked.
"You need to feed, Elijah...", holding out your wrist to him.

He shook his head. "I will manage, Y/N. I can not risk hurting you." Always the gentleman, to his own loss. He would die before hurting someone he cared about, but you weren't going to let that happen.

"You're not managing now. I can see that. I'll be fine, I trust you..." You held your wrist closer, and you could see how the hunger was taking him over.

He took your wrist in his hands, vamping out, and biting. Yes, he hurt you, but it was something you had chosen. He needed this, and you could provide him with it, which made you happy.

Finally something you could do... until he didn't stop drinking.
"Elijah... don't you think it's enough?" You felt how he drained you more and more, and it didn't matter how you were trying to pull away your wrist, he had you in an iron grip.
"Elijah! Please..."

He seemed to hear that, looking down at you, half slumped against him, and he startled.
"Y/N? I knew I should not have taken your offer..." He scooped you up in his arms, having regained most of his strength because of your blood, and putting you on the couch, stepping away from you immediately.

"I'll be fine...", you slurred, but you knew it was true. A bit of rest, and you'd be back to normal.

Elijah didn't seem to believe that, keeping his distance.
"I can not believe I did that to you, Y/N. I... I should leave..."

You shook your head.
"Please don't... I don't mind, really..."

"But I do... and I have to take responsibilities for my actions. Know that I only do this to ensure your safety. I wish you well...", he said, before turning around and leaving the room.
