You sighed and bit the back of you pen. Normally you were good at writing essays, but for some reason this one didn't really work out. Maybe it was because you were almost done with college and you were stressing out about finding a job.

Or maybe it was because your boyfriend was staring at you instead of his television. He had not even noticed that he was watching a romantic movie instead of the basket ball game he had wanted to see.

You shook your head and wrote down another sentence, before you scratched it again. This was not what you wanted to say and for sure not how you wanted to say it. Normally you would simply put the essay aside and would look at it again tomorrow, but you had done that the entire week already and tomorrow you had to hand it in.

"Come on (Y/N), it's almost eleven..." Derek turned his face towards you and you smiled at him.

"One more moment, I promise I'll be done soon." You were far from done. Actually, you still had to start.

"I'll make you a cup of tea in the mean time." Derek stood up from his seat and he walked towards the kitchen.

You had no idea how much time had passed, but eventually he placed a cup of tea next to your paper filled with scratched sentences on the table.

"It's okay if you can't hand it in in time." Derek placed his hands on your shoulders and he pressed a soft kiss on your hair. "You've worked so hard for the last couple of years. They'll get it." His chin rested on your shoulder and you took a deep breath before you nodded.

"Fine, I'll tell them I'll hand it in later." You closed your notebook and took a few sips of your hot tea. "Weren't you gonna watch that basket ball game, though?" You stood up from your seat and smiled.

"I thought watching over you was a better idea."
