The moment he entered the very empty bar, he knew he had made a mistake. He had tried to keep his distance, tried not to come back after he had watched you from afar, but once in a while he kept coming back to this place. Something in his heart made it impossible to forget about you, the way he had made you forget about him. The only one he saw in this bar was you, and his appearance was that striking that leaving would stand out more than making his way to the bar and have one drink. That was all he could allow himself.

You looked sideways at the handsome stranger, somehow being attracted to him. You nodded.
"I can't remember seeing you here before." You gestured to the chair next to you. "Care for some company? I thought I'd meet someone here, but he stood me up."

He gracefully put out his coat, folding it before putting it on a stool, and sat down next to you.
"Someone stood you up? Shame on them...". A faint smile appeared around his lips, as if it was something he wasn't too sorry about. And to be honest... he wasn't. As long as you were still alone, there was a chance he could repair the damage his family had done, even when he knew it would be very unwise to do so.

You shrugged.
"It happens. It happens a lot since I moved here, actually... as if I just don't manage to meet the right guy. There's always something happening." Except for now. You hadn't felt this at ease with someone since... since that move, if you were honest with yourself.
"Sure I can't rope you into going on a date with me?" You laughed. It was worth a shot... the guy was hot... and looked sophisticated. Everything you were looking for.

He smiled again, an almost sad smile.
"I'm afraid some family business make my romantic life quite non-existent at the moment... but I would be more than pleased to share at least one drink with you. On the condition that I do learn your name. I prefer not to drink with strangers." He shouldn't do this, he kept telling himself. This was the biggest mistake he could make. "I'm Elijah."

A name that stirred something in you... something you couldn't explain.
"Y/N. Pleasure meeting you."

"Oh no, my dear. The pleasure is completely mine."
