Request - Drabble Damon Salvatore

"I didn't think you would show up..." You had been pacing the entrance hall for at least half an hour now, ignoring the fact that you had been half an hour early. You had wanted him to come to this ball, you had even managed to gather enough courage to ask him, even when it was just to see him in that suit, but actually believing he would show up... you hadn't come there.

Damon smirked, looking dashing in that suit, just like you hoped he would, and offered you his arm.
"I said yes, didn't I? I'm usually not coming back on my word, unless there's a world to save. And even then I prefer sending Stefan to do that before getting into action myself."

You started laughing, hoping you didn't sound to nervous, but you did put your hand on his arm, made sure your dress wasn't tangled in your shoes -falling over the skirt was the last thing you wanted right now-, and you let him lead you into the room.
"I never knew you liked events like these?"

Damon shrugged.
"I do have some unexpected sides... I've seen more of these than you can possibly imagine, Y/N. I know my way around them. I'm not leaping with joy when I get an invitation, but I never run away from them either." He bent over to you, whispering in your ear, which made you shiver slightly.
"I'm just surprised you asked me here.."

You... didn't immediately know what to say on that. Yes, you had a crush on Damon for quite some while already, and you had never dared to do something about that, until you got this invitation. You swallowed, trying to act cool -and probably failing miserably in that-.
"I...I would just really like to dance with you..." You blurted out."And the suit helps..."

Damon started laughing.
"I can't deny that... Well.. seeing that we're here..." He bowed slightly. "Will you do me the honor of this dance?"
