You grabbed your jacket and your backpack and you held out your hand to open the front door.

"I wouldn't do that if I were you." Kai stood behind you, but you didn't turn around.

You had no reason to turn around. You had given him everything you had to give. You had done everything you could possibly do and still it had not been enough for him. "I can leave whenever I want." You placed your hand on the doorknob.

"Don't!" He raised his voice and you turned around, crossing your arms over your chest.

You threw your head in your neck and you sighed. "And why wouldn't I walk out of here? It's not like you've been acting like you want me here the last couple of days." Sometimes you wondered if the person Kai had become after the merging was fading already.

Maybe the influence of Luke was slowly wearing off. Maybe he would go back to being the old sociopathic Kai again. It would be a pity. For a few weeks Kai had been in love with you. Or at least you had thought he had been in love with you. Now it seemed as if all those feelings were gone again.

"Really? You're making me the bad guy now?" Kai raised his eyebrows and he shook his head. "You've not been helping me in any way. Sometimes I think you don't even care about me anymore." Kai walked closer towards you and you rolled your eyes before you placed the palms of your hands on his cheeks.

"Which part of I love you don't you understand?" You took a deep breath and pressed your lips on his. "Do I have to say it every hour? Every minute? Every second?" You cocked your head and you felt how Kai's hands slid around your waist.

"Yes, because if you don't say that often, I don't believe you!" Kai screamed and you felt him kissing you again, rougher this time, more desperate. "And I like telling you that I love you too."
