"I hate her. I absolutely hate her!" You knew you were acting childish, you knew you should at least give her a chance, but you couldn't. Rebekah simply worked on your nerves, and you didn't know how to change that.

"And who might that her be?" Rebekah asked, with a sickening sweet smile.

You turned around, not knowing she was anywhere near, let alone that she could have heard you. You started to blush, silently cursing how easily you showed your feelings.
"None of your business...", You answered, as short as you could.

She stepped towards you, cocking her head slightly.
"I think we both know you're lying there. In case you missed the memo, love, I can hear a lie, and your heart is betraying you..."

You knew that. You didn't need Rebekah to point that out, you were pretty sure everyone around you, human and vampire could hear how it had sped up.
"I still don't see how that's any of your business, ok?" You wanted to turn around and stomp away -who cared that it looked childish-, but Rebekah stood in your path.

"I know you're talking about me. And I have no idea what it is I have done to you, and I don't need you. I just don't like making enemies at first sight." She raised her eyebrows. "But don't take this wrong, love. If you make an enemy out of you, I will be your worst nightmare."

You... could imagine that, to be honest. You knew her family, you had heard about what her brothers could do, and to hold yourself in that situation... she probably was quite something herself.
"I don't know what it is, ok? You just rub me the wrong way."

"We don't even know each other.", she smirked. "Which means we might have to change that before you start to judge. So... Friends?"

You had no idea why she was doing this. You had given her more than enough reason to just be that enemy she promised she could be, but something in what she said, in how she looked struck a nerve. Maybe she was just lonely. Just like you.
"I can't promise anything... but fine. I'll give you a chance. I'm not sure about the whole friends part yet, but yes. Let's just try not to bash each other's brains in."

Rebekah started to laugh at that.
"For your sake, let's just hope it doesn't come to that. You wouldn't stand a chance."
