Request - Drabble Jace Wayland

Only a few minutes ago the world had been perfect. Your lips had been pressed on Jace's. Your arms had been around his neck. At the horizon the sun had been setting, spreading it's wonderful colors over the magical moment.

And then a demon had disturbed that magical moment. Maybe he had been following you, maybe he had been waiting until you and Jace would be distracted, maybe he had just come out of nowhere. But he for sure had the task to come after Jace.

"Jace!" You yelled. You had seen Jace fighting demons before.

It had always looked graceful, as if it was no big deal, as if it came to him naturally. But this demon seemed to be stronger than all the demons Jace had ever fought before.

"Jace!" You swallowed when you realized what was happening.

Jace was losing. For the first time in his life he was losing. And if he would lose, it would mean that he would die. Here and now. On the beach. Right after the two of you had finally shared your first kiss.

You clenched your teeth and grabbed the dagger you had been carrying ever since you and Jace had started dating. You had never used the dagger before. You had never needed to because Jace had always been there to protect you. Now it was your turn to protect him.

"Get out of here! Now!" Jace screamed, but you shook your head.

With your fingers curled around the handle of your dagger you walked towards the shadowhunter and the demon. You knew that you should have been scared, but you weren't. You were far from scared. With one smooth movement you threw the dagger into the demons back. You knew that it wouldn't kill him, but it would hopefully give Jace enough time to win the fight.

Jace didn't hesitate. He pushed his glowing blade into the stomach of the monstrous creature and the next moment it was gone. "What the hell did you just do?" Jace turned his face towards you and you shrugged your shoulders.

"I don't want to lose you, Jace." You spoke softly and you felt your heart beating in your chest. "I did what I had to do to make sure I wouldn't."

For a moment Jace just stood there, but then he ran towards you and wrapped his arms around you. "You were amazing."
