Request - Drabble Damon Salvatore

You looked at Damon when he was sitting next to the body of his brother. Nothing showed that Stefan might be gone for good, he hadn't dessicated or something like that. You could only see the wound that Rayna's sword made, a small, almost inconspicuous wound, if you didn't know what created it. But you knew. And you couldn't believe this had finally happened. You couldn't believe Stefan was gone.
"Damon?" You put a hand on his shoulder, trying to get his attention, that was only focused on his brother.
"We need to leave..."

He turned towards you, slowly.
"I know I need to bring him back, Y/N. I just... need another moment, ok?"

You shook your head, showing him your phone.
"Valerie just called..."

Damon almost jumped up.
"She has the sword?"

You shook your head.
"I'm afraid it will be a bit more complicated than we thought. The stone is gone, Damon."

"Gone?" He didn't seem to understand. "Then we just need to find it. Can't she do some kind of locator thing, get the stone, and get Stefan out. That's all..."

"You don't get me, Damon..." You tried to get through to him. "It's gone. Like exploded or something like that. With Stefan..." The knot in your stomach became bigger and bigger with everything that happened.
"I'm afraid, Damon..." You suddenly blurted out, even when that probably wasn't helping him at all. "What if we don't get him back?"

Damon closed the distance between you, forcing you to look him in the eye.
"That's not an option, Y/N! He's my brother. I should have been the one with the scar, not him. I should have been the one inside of that damned stone. And I will be the one to get him back, no matter what I have to do for it. This is not the end."

"How do you know?" You looked at him, almost not recognizing the Damon you remembered. He was determined, cold, as if all the passion in him had died when he had to leave Elena behind.

"Because I'm Damon Salvatore. I know I screwed up, but this time I'm going to solve my messes. I won't rest before I have him back."
