You stared at the clock and sighed. It didn't even surprise you anymore that he was late. You were more surprised that you were still expecting him to be on time, that you were still hoping that he would be on time.

The last couple of weeks he had had trouble with almost every date the two of you had scheduled. He had either been hours later or he had not come at all. And not once had he given you a good reason.

"Seriously?" You sat down in front of the mirror and stared at yourself. "You're an idiot. How many more chances are you gonna give him? How many more apologies and make up kisses are you gonna accept? How many more times are you gonna sit and wait here for someone who doesn't care about you at all?"

"So, that's what you think?" Kol leaned against the doorpost of your room, his arms crossed over his chest. The smirk on his face however was not there. Maybe there was even a glimpse of guilt visible in his eyes.

"That's the only reasonable explanation, right?" You didn't turn around, but stared at him via the mirror. "If there would be one tiny little bit of you caring about me, you would at least text me." You swallowed and you tried to fight the tears. You didn't want to cry. If you would cry, he would grab you and would press you to his chest. And you would fall for him again.

"Well, actually it's not." Kol walked towards you and he placed his hands on your shoulders. "But I'm not sure if you're ready to hear the full story about my crazy life already." He pressed a soft kiss in your neck and eventually he turned the chair you were sitting in around, so he could press a soft kiss on your lips. "They're still holding that table for us in the restaurant." He cocked his head and he blinked a few times. "I would really love to go there so I can explain you as much as I can over dinner."

You sighed and you rolled your eyes, but eventually you shrugged your shoulders. You were a hopeless case anyway. "Fine, let's go."
