I had been called weird all my life. In fact, my family can attest to that. Remember my birthday? Yep, they had no qualms in telling the entire Philippines how weird I am. Parang proud pa sila. But that was okay kasi what they said was true.
Honestly naman, I don't see anything wrong with what I am doing which constitute as weirdness para sa ibang tao. Is it because mahilig ako mag wacky face and that I don't care if I do it in front of 55,000 people? If that makes me weird, eh di weird ako. I won't exert an ounce of energy to refute that.
Pero, I found out that there are three types of people pala: (a) those who are turned off by my weirdness; (b) those who accept it because it is who I am; and (c) those who are willing to join me and my quirks. To the first group, I say goodbye. To the second one, I say thanks. To the third, I open my heart.
Which brings me to the person that is Alden Richards. Huwag ka muna kiligin, okay? Medyo mahaba pa 'to.
Game.
You know how life manages to sneak up on you and then turn your world upside down? Yan si Alden para sa akin. He came without warning. Wala man lang busina.
Alam ko naman na may isang Alden Richards sa Eat Bulaga. I just never thought na our paths would actually cross kasi I knew from the start na sa baranggay lang ako and that iilang weeks lang naman ang stay ko sa show.
Alam ko rin na gwapo siya. Cute. But I found him too uptight, yung taong prim and proper, takot magkamali, may image na pinoprotektahan. Very much unlike the happy-go-lucky me. Sabi ko nga, I didn't expect to meet him like, AT ALL.
So imagine mo na lang ang laking gulat ko when his face appeared on the other screen nung July 16, 2015 episode ng Juan for All. I had to smile kasi tangina friend, Alden Richards yun! Hindi ko keri ang pungay ng mata, yung ngiting feeling ko intended lang talaga para sa'kin, yung dimples na pagkalalim-lalim na pwede akong mag dive dun at mag backstroke.
I had to break character kasi shet, yung kilig ko abot hanggang outer space.
And I'm glad I did. I'm not even sorry I reacted that way. Kasi it opened a lot of doors for me. Who would have thought that one seemingly insignificant moment would lead to something as big as what is happening now?
So yun na nga. Alden Richards.
Actually hindi ko alam kung crush ko na siya before July 16 happened or that I just found him cute. Pero one thing's for sure: quiet ka lang pero alam ko crush ko na siya before pa kami magkita. Owkaaay, I'm blushing. Pero hindi niya rin naman 'to mababasa.
Huy, hindi ako maharot ha. Crush lang naman! Bakit, sinabi ko bang mahal ko na siya agad-agad? Over ka sa akin. Pero kasi, ang sweet sweet nang taong yun eh. He's the type of person who would do things out of the blue, for no reason at all.
One time, may dumating na box of happiness para sa akin. It was filled with my favorite comfort food: Hany, MikMik, HawHaw, at kung anu-ano pa. And there was a time when he sent some fruits sa bahay kasi nag-absent ako because of menstrual cramps. Meron din mga pa-surprise na flowers. Basta, marami pang ganap na mga ganyan.
Aminin mo, you found that sweet, noh? Pero sabi ko nga, I'm weird. Bakit naman siya magkakagusto sa akin, d ba?
Ako na yata ang pinaka-dense na tao sa buong mundo. When he asked to borrow my phone during the Broadway visit episode, he sent a text message to his own cellphone number. From that time on, I had his number but I never really bothered to text. Syempre noh, nakakahiya kaya yun. But in fairness naman sa kanya, he is always the first one to text in the morning and the last one to text at night.
There was a time after Tamang Panahon na sobrang pikon na sina Kuya Wally at Kuya Jose sa'kin kasi tinatanong nila ako kung nanliligaw na ba si Alden. Bigla kasi sumusulpot sa kung saan kami na wala man lang pasabi. Pero as I said, dense ako, or ayoko lang talaga mag-assume kaya sabi ko hindi. Pero ayaw nilang maniwala. Manhid daw ako.
Pero paano nga ba manligaw ang isang Alden Richards?
