Sorry, Already Busy Chapter 2

"The weekend is coming up guys, let's go out and PAR-TAY!! I heard Tony the Tiger is throwing a massive one on Saturday at his mansion." Knuckles stood up from his seat and attempted what looked like a dance. To me, it seemed like he was jerking his body rapidly and out of sync.

"Sorry Knuckles, I have a diploma coming up and I wanna study for it" said Tails in a rather nonchalant voice.

"I do not participate in 'parties'" Blaze bluntly added on.

"I'm free this week!" Silver turn his attention to his lover with big hopeful eyes. "Come on Blazey, don't be like that." Chided Silver as he nudge an elbow into his girlfriend's side and winked. "I know you don't have anything important coming up."

A light tint of pink faded onto the cat's cheeks. She quickly looked away and Silver tried to get her attention back by continually yelling the word "please" and throwing his body onto Blaze.

"Alright one person is coming. What are you guys?" Knuckles sat on the table and turn his attention to us with a big cheeky grin.

I quickly brought my focus back into reality and tried to remember what Knuckles just asked me. Thankfully I can both listen and day dream at the same thing.

"I was actually planning to do something, so I'll have to decline that offer."

"Awhhh, now who is is gonna be our designated driver?"

I furrowed my eyebrows and glared at the echidna and tighten my grip on my seat with my free hand. "You only wanted me to come so I can drive you home?"

Knuckles stammered "w-what?? N-noooo, of course not! A party wouldn't be the same without you!"

"Yeah, it's gonna be less organized, more hectic and way more fun if Amy doesn't go." Sonic humourlessly added on. "Ha, ha, I'm kidding Ames, don't be mad."

You're lying. You meant what you said. You were just trying to cover it up. "No, no it's alright! I knew it was a joke" I feel like my heart just broke in half.

"To answer your question Knuckles, I can't, I'm busy this Saturday."

"With what?" Questioned Knuckles

"I actually have a--" For some strange reason, he glanced over in my direction and stopping midway his sentence. I was confused, was he hinting at something? Maybe he knew I was trying to ask him out on a date this Saturday! Oh Sonic I knew you had feelings for me!

"I actually have stuff to do. Like, school work, and uh, yeah."

"Damn, what a shame, I was hoping the fastest moving hedgehog would attend the party."

Everyone turned their attention to Rouge who spoke with a natural bitchy (no offence) tone. She was sitting on the edge near me and waved hi when she had everyone eye's on her.

"Now who's going to be escort?" Rouge lifted a hand and placed it on her forehead like a damsel in distress.

"I CAN BE YOUR ESCORT ROUGE!" Knuckles shook the whole table as he planted one foot on the lunch table and the other on his seat, he puffed out his chest, trying to make himself look worthy in front of Rouge.

"Awwwh, that's so sweet of you darling. I'll happily accept you." Rouge rolled her eyes with a small grin and went back to examining her nails.

I knew Knuckles had a thing for Rouge. It was blatantly obvious, I think everyone knew really. Even Rouge knew! One time I asked her if she felt the same and she sort of just, shrugged. Ever since I confronted her about it, she's been accepting Knuckles presence around her more than before.

"Blaze said she'll go to the party!" Exclaimed Silver, back from having his little moment with Blaze. I notice that she held a stone face but I knew she was feeling pretty embarrassed from the announcement. God they were so cute together! I want a relationship like that with Sonic one day.

"Sweet! That's four people going! Now we just need a driver..." Knuckles tucked a fist under his chin and contemplated who he should ask. Suddenly his face lit up like lights on Christmas Eve and pointed up to the ceiling. It wasn't rare to see Knuckles having an "ah-hah!" Moment, but Most of the time, the ideas was actually pretty terrible.

"Let's ask Shadow if he'll drive us!" He started scanning the cafeteria for the familiar black hedgehog.

"Don't get your hopes up. I don't think he's here today. If he was, he would be at the table with us." Sonic blurted out as he took the last bite of his chillidog.

"Found him!" Knuckles pointed out near the entrance.

Everyone had the same surprised look. I think Sonic wore it best though. He hated it when someone proved him wrong. simultaneously, everyone turned their attention to the walking unfazed black hedgehog, making his way to the table everyone sat at.
