What Did I Get Myself Into Chapter 24

When I kissed Shadow, I felt the world come to life. I wanted this to happen, I never wanted this moment to end...But, all good things must come to an end. I pulled my head back and admired at Shadows soft lips. I slowly trailed them up until I was meeting Shadow's gaze. His eyes were wide open, just gaping at me. W-wait... Was he like that the whole time? Oh gosh, what if he didn't like it!? Oh my god, oh my god, oh my god!! I nervously blinked a few times and scattered off of Shadow's body. I crawled away to a wall and slithered myself up by using my back. Shadow perched his torso up with his elbows and just kept staring at me. I felt the tips of my ears and my cheeks glow crimson red with embarrassment.

"W-what?" I nervously asked out of the blue. DAMN IT SHADOW STOP STARING AT ME.

Shadow pulled himself up on his feet and sort of swayed back and forth, trying to find balance after having someone sit on them for so long. His face went back to his familiar poker face and looked away. "What was that?" He coolly asked.

"U-um-- uuh-- well--- I just--" I cursed to myself for my stupid stammering. I inhaled a deep breath and tried to calm myself down. "I... Well, what does it look like? Clearly it was a kiss." I said in an nervously over confident voice.

"I know it was a kiss, dummy." He shook his head. "Why did you do it?" He asked a bit more assertively.

I lowered my head and stared at my feet. I could feel my stomach churning with worry and my body coursing with panic. Just be yourself Amy. Just be straight forward for once. "Because I like you..." I whispered.

Silence, Just silence. I refused to look up and see what Shadow was doing, I even disabled myself from moving from my position. All of a suddenly, I heard faint footsteps on the carpet going over to the front door. I heard the transition from light steps to hard clanks. I spun my head to the front door to see Shadow idling there holding onto the door knob. It was at that instant where I felt my confident and strength falter away from my body. I wanted to fall to my knees and start crying out to Shadow.

He suddenly sighed. "I'm sorry Amy, but I do not have the same feelings for you." My eyes widen and I felt tears welling up inside. I lifted two hands over my mouth to muffle up my whimpering. I got ahead of myself, thinking that Shadow felt the same, and now it's going to hurt me.

He continued his speech. "However, that doesn't mean you should stop."

What...? I guess I looked pretty lost because Shadow rolled his eyes in exasperation. "It means, that even though I do not have the same feelings for you, you shouldn't stop going after me. You see, I think you'll find me far more superior than that blue hedgehog. Why take away that chance to be with something greater? Who knows, maybe I'll reciprocate those feelings back." He genuinely smiled and pulled the door out. "I'll see your around. Try not to let this effect our fake relationship too much, okay?" With that, he closed the door.

I wanted to screamed out with delight. I just couldn't believe Shadow was doing this! I couldn't believe Shadow was giving me such a fighting chance! I... I need to tell the girls! I ran into my bedroom and flung my laptop open. I went on a social media called "Facebook", and typed in the news in our group chat.

"Guys! We need to meet up ASAP. I have big news to tell you!"

Rouge replied with: "if this is about you dating Shady, that's so 2000 and late."

Blaze sent a laughing emoji. I smiled, finding it funny that Blaze online was different from the Blaze in real life.

Cream: "YOU'RE DATING SHADOW!? WE ARE SO TALKING ABOUT THIS! Let's meet up today at 6, at meh burgers."

Rouge: "ew, who eats at meh burgs.? Let's go to a cafe or somethin."

Me: "guys, guys, this is seriously good news! I have to agree with Rouge doe, let's go to our usual cafe today at 6. Sounds like a plan?"

Rouge: "sure sweetie, I have some free time."

Cream: "okie :), Amy can you pick me up then?"

Blaze: "👍"

Me: "of course Cream! Why wouldn't I? In fact, I'll pick everyone up"

I suddenly deadpanned when I forgot a crucial component for this whole trip.

Me: "nvm... I forgot I left my car at Sonic's house... Looks like we're walking girls -.-" "

I fell back into my bed and face-palmed. I should get my car back soon, this is becoming a hassle.
