Ice Rink Chapter 30

I couldn't help myself from being overjoyed. I had an ear to ear smile and my left hand was resting on top of my heart. I know I should be mad, but I... I just can't anymore.

"Your mood seems to be better now. " Blaze commented.

"Looks like Shadow knows how to make his girls happy." Silver added on while nudging an elbow to Blaze.

I laughed and shook my head. "The relationship is seriously terrible right now. I think we got into two fights already within what, two days? Still though, I'm really happy right now that Shadow's having a date with me." Imagine that, Shadow planning a date for me. Shouldn't it be the other way around so I could make him fall for me? Who cares, I'm just happy that I didn't blurt out me technically breaking up with Shadow.

"No relationship can be flawless. If it was, then it's not real." Blaze calmly said.

"Flawless? I thought we were flawless Blazey!" Silver said in a surprised voice.

"Please Silver. Don't make me laugh. We had our arguments in the past." Blaze pfft.

I watch as the two continued to peacefully argue with each other. I wish I can have a relationship like theirs with me and Shadow. That would be a dream.

"Hey guys, I'm gonna see if I can find Shadow and ask him why does he want me to dress warm. I'll see you two around." I got up from my seat and left my half eaten salad. I waved bye to the two as they waved back.

As I was running out of the cafeteria and into the hallway, I didn't pay any attention when I ran past Sonic and Sally, holding hands and heading into the cafeteria. However, I swear I saw Sonic eyes follow me the whole time I ran past him through the corner of my eye.

Oh my God, it took me forever to get ready. First of all, I had to make sure I looked cute. Secondly, I didn't know what Shadow meant when he said 'dress for the cold', so all I'm going to bring is a jacket, along with a red scarf. After parking in the recreation centre and sprinting up the stairs, I find Shadow crossing his arms at the front entrance.

"I'm so sorry Shadow! I just didn't know what to bring." I apologized.

Shadow glowered at me and then turned away and began to walk to the customer service. "Hmph, let's just get this over with." He bitterly replied.

I pouted and followed behind him. As we approach the lady, I noticed Shadow didn't bring anything with him. "Two admission for the ice rink Delilah." Shadow nonchalantly spoked.

"Oh well isn't it Shadow the hedgehog? Haven't seen you in awhile!" The receptionist was an elderly lizard that had wrinkles along her eyes. She leaned over to stare at me. Suddenly her eyes glimmered. "Don't tell me you have a date now! Oh shoot, looks like I'm out of the run then." She playfully flirted. I walked closer until I was standing next to Shadow. He gently smiled and I felt jealous that this lizard made him smile. "I'll put it on your tab Shadow, pay us back when you have the time alright?" Shadow nodded and gestured me to follow him. I obeyed his orders and followed. So this isn't Shadow's first time being here...he must've been here a good amount of times for him to just walk in without even actually paying anything. Was that even possible to keep tabs at recreation areas? Man, Shadow sure has some privilege.

We walked down two flights of stairs and passed through two huge automatic sliding doors. The atmosphere went from normal room temperature to chilly air that you get around Christmas. My eyes glimmered with excitement when I saw the huge ice rink. There was already packs of people gliding on the ice laughing and chatting. There was even couples holding hands or teaching one another how to skate properly. I felt my cheeks blush from thinking of me and Shadow holding hands and skating together. Good things it's cold in here, he won't tell if I'm blushing or not now.
