ShadAmy How Can I Love You?

Day 3 Chapter 33

I was in my car driving towards the mall located inside town, the exact same mall I was suppose to have my date with Sonic. However, this time around, I'm having a date with Shadow. After the dispute with Scourge, I finally got Shadow's number. Meaning, I can text him whenever I want and call him whenever I want! I had to make sure I wasn't overdoing it though. Don't want to scare off Shadow or come off as super duper clingy. I pulled up to the parking lot and proceeded to park my car. I looked at my phone, hoping to see if Shadow texted me. Of course, there was none. Hmph! I'm 20 minutes late and you don't even bother asking where am I? Some boyfriend... I opened my car door and walked to the nearest entrance. I got all giddy thinking that one day, Shadow could be mine.

"Comin inside right now :), meet me at the food court~" I texted him.

"K" he replied back.

I pouted when I read his text. Wow, just a 'K'? Urgh, Shadow's such a meanie. I guess I would be mean too if my date was late. Especially when I was the one that asked him to go out this time. I held my head up high as I waited for the elevator to come down. I swayed back and forth on my heels and kept smiling because the whole time, I thinking about Shadow. I pulled out my hand mirror to make any final adjustments to my hair. Gotta make sure I look cute for Shadow. Finally the elevator dinged and proceeded to open the doors. I stepped forward while continuing to examine myself, but I didn't make it very far in because was someone was blocking the way. Oh whoops. I forgot to let the people off first.

"Oh my sorry, here let me move-" my smiley face turned into a blank one when I saw the person I bumped into.

"Sonic." I quietly breathed out.

"Amy..." He said back. I moved out of the way for him to get off the elevator.

"Well, I gotta go, I'll see you tomorrow..." I tried to hop on before the doors closed but Sonic grabbed my arm. I abruptly turned around and suddenly felt nervous.

"Wait Ames..." Sonic pleaded. "I think we should talk..."

The elevators doors closed behind me and I felt myself getting agitated. I eyed down at Sonic's hand grabbing into my arm and looked back up at him with a stern glare.

"Oh sorry." He instantly let go and repositioned his varsity jacket on his body. "But um... Yeah... I really think we should talk..."

I crossed my arms and shifted my body weight. I still felt something for Sonic, but I wanted to love Shadow now. And what Sonic did to me just left me having a bitter feeling about him. "I'm sorry Sonic, I need to get going to Shadow because we have a date today." I purposely emphasized the word 'date'.

Sonic instantly stiffen and winced. "Amy, I really think we should talk. Our friendship isn't the same as it was before."

"You're right. That's because I'm not chasing after you anymore." I sharply replied back.

"So? Does that mean we can't be friends anymore?" Sonic took a step forward and had a painful expression on.

I soften my face and unfolded my arms. F-friends... I looked down at my feet, then back up at Sonic. "Sorry... I'm just sorta still iffy about how I should feel about you..." Great, now I feel guilty for talking to Sonic so rudely.

Sonic awkwardly laughed and scratched the back of his head. "I totally understand. Do you think you can spare a few minutes with me?"

I blankly stared at Sonic. "Uuh...." I quickly pulled out my phone and saw that I was 25 minutes late now. That, and the fact that Shadow still didn't bother to text me. It seems like Shadow isn't bothered with me being a little bit late... I guess it won't hurt if I'm late by another 10 minutes... I smiled up at Sonic and nodded. "Sure, just let me text Shadow--"

"Nah no need! I'll text him for you when we get there." He interjected.

I arched an eyebrow. "Get...where...?"

"You'll see." He smirked.

In a blink of an eye, I was swooped off my feet and was bolting out of the doors I entered merely minutes ago. I felt the world whirl past me and my ears hearing the wind roar.

"SONIC WHAT ARE YOU DOING!?" I yelled out.

"Ha ha, you said you can spare some time with me. You didn't say where I can spare it. So I'm calling the shots!" He grinned.

"But Shadow-"

"Don't even worry about him! Trust me Ames, he's a close friend of mine, remember?"

He looked down at me and smiled with eyes that were filled with life. I stared blankly back,  then adverted my eyes to his jacket to avoid any further eye contact. Looks like I can't say anything to stop Sonic. And I guess Sonic and Shadow are sorta close... Oh well, this is only for a couple of minutes...I should be fine...right?
