My First Ever ____ Chapter 16

For the first time in a very long time, I wasn't excited to go to our lunch table. My day was already bad enough with Shadow making a fool out of me, but now I have to potentially face Sonic at the lunch table? Yeahhh, not my ideal situation. As I walked into the cafeteria, I looked around and found my eyes fixated on Sonic. I instantly shook my head and smack my face with both my hands on the cheeks. My eyes instinctively started searching for Sonic. Stoop it Amy, it's over... I let out a long sigh and gathered up all the courage I got and slowly weaved my way through the crowd. As I drew closer, I notice Sonic wasn't sitting at the table alone. Sitting across from him was Shadow leaning on the table with his head perched up with his left hand, while his right was casually resting on top. To me, it seemed like they were having a heated conversation. Well, Shadow would make annoyed looks and narrow his eyebrows in an angry way to be exact. Sonic on the other hand, was speaking with his hands. Every sentence he spat out, he's whole body would move and his arms were be flailing in different directions to add emphasis to his statements. From where I was standing, I could hear Sonic's voice very faintly, not enough for me to make out the complete sentences though. Shadow was the exact opposite of Sonic. His body was rigid, the only thing that I could see moving was his lips. Though I saw his lips moving, I couldn't hear his voice.

Only when I was two tables away from greeting Sonic and Shadow, Shadow's eyes looked up and connected with mine. I was momentarily stunned until I figured out I should wave or smile. I gently did a quick two finger wave and continued to walk forward. It didn't last long though. Shadow abruptly stood up and stormed pass Sonic, as he walked pass, Sonic was calling out Shadow's name until he looked back and saw me. Our eyes locked but I quickly looked away because I suddenly lost my courage to face him. I felt someone grab my hand swiftly and started pulling me away from where I was standing. As I was being pulled away, I saw Sonic's eyes widen and his mouth slightly ajar. I probably had the same reaction when I turned to see who was holding me by my hand; it was Shadow himself. Before I could open my mouth in questioning his action, he spoke clear and collected.

"Don't look at Sonic, it's what he wants."

"W-what?" My voice cracked from the lack of water I had.

Shadow quickly glanced back at me and then turn back to face the front. "I'll explain later. For now, we're going somewhere else."

I did what I was told. I looked around and saw many girls gasping and whispering to each other as we walked out of the cafeteria. I got the same reaction when I walked past Rouge and Blaze. Actually, Rouge just gave me a thumbs up while Blaze kept watching me until we turned a corner. It wasn't until we were outside, at the back of the school we rested. We stood under a shaded area with Shadow standing in front of me looking away, pondering about something. As for me, I was just super confused.

"Hey." I said.

He didn't even bother to nod at me to show he was listening.

"Hey!" I spoke a little louder.

Still nothing.

"SHADOW ARE YOU DEAF FOR SOMETHING?" I practically was yelling.

"I heard you the first time. Sonic was right, you can be unnecessarily loud at times."

I felt my heart drop and winced. "What did you just say?" I painfully spoke.

"This is why I brought you here. I'm trying to tell you--" he cut off his own sentence. He's ears flickered and turned his head behind him. I tilted my head and narrowed my eyes at him.

"Sorry what was that last part? You sort of just-"

"Act natural." He quietly said. He swiftly stepped in front of me and held onto my shoulders. Then, he closed his eyes, drawing his face closer to mine.

I seriously didn't know what was happening. It happened so fast to even begin with. From just one blink, Shadow's face was instantly close to mine. Heck, they were touching in all honesty... What am I saying? We are touching... My...my lips were touching Shadow's...It was on this day where I knew my life completely changed and I felt something deep inside my heart that I knew far too well. It was this day, that Shadow the hedgehog, stole my first kiss.
