Shadow's POV
I go by many names; boss, killer, merciless, hedgehog, red... But my favourite one out of all of them is Dead End. My commands or acquaintances to be exact, called me 'De', for short. It makes me feel alive... It makes me feel...good.
                              ---
                              "Yo De!"
I was reloading my gun in peace until I was rudely interrupted by my annoying peasant Scourge. He walks into the warehouse with red shades on and waving one hand at me.
"What?" I shot back in a stern voice.
Scourge froze in his tracks for a second then went back to walking. "The other dudes are in position, now all we gotta do is raid the place."
I scoffed. "Are the explosives in position?" I cocked my gun and then spun it around my finger.
"Come on De, you're talking to me remember? Have I ever messed up our plans before?" Scourge sat on the work bench and pulled out a lollipop and inserted into his mouth.
I stopped spinning my gun and held it in fire position, pointing it directly at Scourge. I stared into Scourge's eyes with my eyes that always had the essence of killing. Despite him wearing his shades, I could tell where his pupils were. I could feel him sweat drop under his shades and it amused me. I swiftly turned around and began to walk out the exist. "Hurry up."
I heard Scourge's footsteps quickly patter along the cold pavement until he was walking beside me. I looked over to see this huge grin on his face and the stick of the lollipop hanging out. I faced forward once again, tired of looking at Scourge's disgusting face. You want to betray me one day Scourge, I know it. I lightly brushed my fingertips against the handle of my knife on the left side of my leg and grinned. Too bad that today will be your last day to live...
                              ---
People would see this as a burglary, I see this as a game. You enter the building, try to go in undetected, steal whatever you needed to steal and get out quickly. I actually like it when the polices show up or the guards put up a fight. It gives this job more spunk. Too bad no one can ever win against me. If you haven't guess by now, I'm a mercenary and the best one out there. I've completed task a 30 year old mercenary would take days to accomplish and finished them within hours. What can I say? I know how to time management.
Today's task is pretty simple. Steal documents from a company and hand it over to our hirer. Even Scourge could complete this. Of course no one wants to hire him, he's just the in between guy, the one that gets my name around and offers wealthy jobs to me. Hmph, the only good thing about him anyways. After one of the other guys were able to break the lock to the back door without setting off the alarm, we split into groups. One went up to the control panels and turned off all the security along with shutting up the surveillance guy. Another group took care of the guys on the other floors while setting up the bombs. As for me, I got the job to find the documents and kill anyone that gets in my way. Sadly, Scourge was with me. The building had three floors, and the documents we were looking for was on the very top.
After slicing three security guard's throats, we were finally at the top. We were outside the office door waiting for the laser beams to be turned off. I was leaning against the wall, cleaning off the blood from my knife when I started to recall the journey up here. This company definitely has money, yet there was barely any guards around here. Maybe this is a lowlife job and Scourge accidentally accepted it. I glanced over at Scourge who was squatting on the floor playing with his lollipop stick. That imbecile. I can't believe I'm splitting the reward with him. Hell, I can't believe I'm splitting the reward with everyone in this operation. No matter, I won't have to worry about that very long. In fact... I felt the handle of my blade once more and hovered my thumb over a small brown button on the bottom. A button that can remote detonate all explosives in this building, including the ones that haven't even been planted. I smirked to myself thinking to press the button now. I had to resist the urge to do such a thing. Though I hate to admit it, I can't complete this task without these stupid people. I'll make sure their last night will go out with a big Bang. Finally, we heard a click inside. Me and Scourge looked at each other and opened the door slowly. In front of us stood a desk, a chair and a bunch of filing cabinets behind them. Scourge through his lollipop stick inside, making sure the laser beams were in fact, turned off. We both stepped inside the room and began to open the filing cabinets. One by one, be pulled and scanned through each file for a special folder that said something about a group called "H.I.H". I wrinkled my nose. To think I'm searching for a file with hundreds of words on them, and I have to find a three letter abbreviation.  This has to be some sort of sick joke. After a few minutes of searching, we heard a noise coming outside the door. I pulled out my knife and was ready to jump over the desk and into the dark hallways, but Scourge held up a hand out to me.
"I'll go. You search." He whispered.
I narrowed my eyes. Who the hell made you captain? I nodded my head slowly and went back to searching. Let him have his glory, he won't live long anyways. I widen my eyes when I finally found a folder with the word H.I.H written on the front. I opened it up to look at the contents and stared at it in confusion. It was completely blank. I flipped through the pages inside, every single one was just a blank piece of paper.
                              "What the hell?" I hissed.
I then heard slow clapping coming from the hallway. I quickly pulled out my gun and pointed it at the entrance. Scourge entered while continuing to slowly clap with a smug look on his face.
"Looks like you found the folder De." He smoothly spoke out.
I pulled the trigger. The shot fired right along Scourge's cheek. Scourge stood there petrified as a small cut formed from the graze.
"Don't fuck with me Scourge. What the hell is this." I said in a assertive voice.
Scourge sweat dropped and had a nervous grin on his face. "Straight to the point huh? Well since you're so eager to know..." He snapped his fingers.
Out of no where, people in SWAT armoury came crashing through the window on ropes. I had to cover my face so the glass wouldn't get into my eyes. When I lifted my arms away from my face. I saw about 8 people all pointing a gun at me. One...two...no...one...three...five...
"You know, I had fun being your sidekick for a while De." Scourge shrugged and took a step forward.
I stood there in silence, hanging my face so my eyes couldn't be seen. Six. I can use six then do that to...
"You see this whole operation was a way for this group to take you in alive... Hopefully." He crackled.
Again, silence. It looks like I have to use my powers to get out of this jam...hm... Yes...I think this plan will do.
"Sorry to cross you like this but a deals is a deal." Scourge nodded his head, signalling for the guys with the guns to move in.
I rolled my neck and shoulders and lifted my head up, revealing my face, but my eyes were still closed. It's been far too long since I had a challenge like this... I wiggled my fingers and enhanced all my senses. Let's see how many people I can kill today. I jumped all the way up to the ceiling, one gun in one hand and my knife in the other. I opened my eyes to reveal bright crimson eyes that were filled with excitement. Let's see how many people are gonna meet their dead end tonight.
I slammed my thumb down on the button and watch as the people below me lose their balance from the rupture. One guy looked straight up at my eyes and was petrified from my gaze. . I pointed my gun at him and wickedly smiled.
                              "Boom. Head shot."
