Not even 9 o'clock and already my day was going horrendous. Yesterday, Shadow dropped me off at my house as planed, and we said our goodbyes. Cream was busy with something so I couldn't gossip about the details that happened that day. I decided that I should sleep and wait for Monday to roll around. I guess my sleep was so good, that I slept through all my alarm clocks and only had 20 minutes to reach school before I was considered late. I got dress, brush my teeth, grabbed an apple for breakfast and sprinted down to my building's underground parking lot where my car is...However, I was so caught up with Shadow, that I forgot I left my car at Sonic's house! His house is 15 minutes away from mine if I bus there. No way can I make it to school on time. Don't worry though, I had plan B which was to take the bus to school... IF I HAD CHANGE FOR THE BUS! The only money I had was big bills and my debit card. So, I had no choice but to jog myself to school. By the time I ran out of my apartment, the time was already 8:35; school starts at 8:48.
So here I am, running down the street, messing up my quills while everyone I run pass stares at me as if I just robbed a bank. It was around 8:40 when I saw my school down the street. Come on, come on, I can make it! It's time like these where I wish I was fast like Sonic. I felt my legs slowing down and my mind telling me to rest, but I had to neglect those feelings if I wanted to make it to school on time. If I'm late to biology one more time, I'm so,so screwed! She'll make me clean all the desks, is that even allowed!? I kept pushing myself forward until I heard what sounded like a motorcycle motor roaring next to me. I turned my head to see Shadow slowly riding next to me.
                              "Hop on." He nonchalantly said.
"Hah? Why would I do that?"
"You don't want to be late correct? Wheels are faster than you by a long shot."
I furrowed my eyebrows and glanced at my phone for the time. 8:43. I really won't make it if I keep this up.
I loudly groaned and halted to a stop. Shadow stopped a few steps away from me and turned his head to face me. "Fine! But don't go thinking that I owe you something for this." I pointed my finger at him and hissed back.
I quickly got on and wrapped my arms around Shadow who revved the engine instantly. I felt like I just swallowed my heart and lost all ability to think properly. It took a minute for us to pass the front gates. Shadow stopped in front of the entrance and I scurried off without bothering to say thank you to Shadow. I bolted up the stairs and didn't stop to take a breather. Though I did notice that there was practically no students in the hallways which only made me even more panic. Everyone is probably in class, I can't waste my time looking at my phone. When I saw my biology class room number, the adrenaline kicked in and I pushed through as hard as I could. I reached out and grabbed the door handle, pushed it down and tried to open the door. However, the door never moved. I slammed my whole body into the door and then tumbled back while holding my face in a mixture of pain and confusion.
                              "What?" I spoke out loud.
I quickly grasp the handle again and jiggled it. It was definitely locked. I checked my phone again and saw the time was 9:00 on the dot.
"I don't get it, my class should be here, why isn't the door opening?"
I heard footsteps coming down the hallway I sprinted across, so I turned my head to see Shadow walking down it.
"That's because it's day light savings." His voice echoed through the empty hallway.
My eyes widen in disbelief. "Are you serious!?"
"I don't joke around." He dryly said.
                              "Did you know about this?"
"Yes, it was on the news yesterday." He leaned against the school's railing as he stared at me.
"IF YOU KNEW WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME!?" I angrily shouted.
"Like I said, I find it entertaining to see people's failures." He started to examine his white glove and smirked.
I felt rage boiling up inside me. I couldn't believe that Shadow just watched me make a fool of myself. I stomped away from Shadow, dragging my school backpack on the floor.
"You're seriously are so mean you know that Shadow!? This why I don't like you! You're a ruthless dirtbag!" I shouted behind me as I exited a flight of stairs going down to the main floor. Before the door closed, I heard that rich deep chuckle for the second time. As I descended the stairs, I felt my face boiling with embarrassment and anger. Stupid Shadow and his attractive chuckle...
