I think 20 minutes has past since Victoria left us. The pain became bearable or at least my body was becoming numb. I looked over to the globe and read the percentage. 68%. We are almost there. As soon as I get out of this chamber, I need to click on the red button and get Maria out of here. Her safety is my top priority. I glanced over to Maria who had a sorrowful expression written all over her face. I placed my hand on the glass and knocked on it, grabbing Maria's attention.

"Don't... Worry..." I weakly said out with a small smile. "Victoria... Will be... Fine."

Maria did a sad smile and shook her head. "I know Victoria will be fine. I'm worried about you."

I widen my eyes then winced when another shockwave swept through me. "What?" I said in a dry voice.

She sniffed her tears back. "Because I'm worried I won't have enough time to give you your present for doing such a great job on keeping your promise."

I was about to say something when I felt like something just stabbed me right in the heart. I brought both my hands together over my chest and gasped for air. My vision started to blur and my legs felt numb. Next thing you know, I stopped floating in my chamber and was slowly placed down onto the floor, only to collapse over to my side because of the pain. The glass fell down, allowing me to move over to the control panel and do my task. But I was so weak. I kept gasping for air and I couldn't even feel my legs working properly. I reached out with one hand and tried to use all my effort to drag myself along the floor. I then heard footsteps running over to me, grabbing my body and placing me back in the centre of my cylinder. With the little energy I had, I focused my gaze on the figure in front of me.

"Mar...ia?" I said in a husky voice.

"...Don't... Don't speak Shadow..." She cooed.

"Maria...what... Are..."

She went over to the control panel very weakly and placed a hand over the switch. She flipped it to "A", then scrolled the disk until it said 100%. The glass walls came back up, surrounding me once again.

"Maria!?" I coughed out. I painfully lifted up an arm and started to pound on the glass that didn't even make a sound when I made contact with it. I'm... So... Weak...

Maria then pressed the big red button. I saw the essence quickly started flowing to my side and filling my chamber. I felt my breathing go steady once again and the nerves in my leg. I quickly looked over to Maria who was leaning against the control panel's stand, just lying there breathing really slowly.

"Maria why!?" I cried out. "Why are you doing this!?"

Maria glanced over at me and smiled weakly. "Because... Because you living in this world will make a far greater difference than me being here.." She closed her eyes and coughed in pain.

I looked up at the orb and saw that the percentage was at 40%. Why the hell is it moving faster!? I stood up and started bashing on the glass walls.

"Release me this instant Maria! We can reverse the process if you just-"

"No." She shook her head sloppy like. "You're better than me Shadow... You can go far."

I punched the glass wall hard, but no cracked form. "You shut up Maria! Open this shit up or-or--!"

"Or what?" Maria spat back which caught me by surprise. "Face it Shadow... I've changed our fates..."

I kicked the glass and still nothing. "'Maria!" I caught a glimpse of the percentage in the corner of my eye that read 14%. It really was no use now. But... If Maria can't live... Then I don't want to either. I started rapidly bashing at a area of the glass waiting for a crack to form. My plan only started to work when the percentage was at 10%.
