I was in shackles walking down a long lit corridor to what seem like a headquarter. I don't remember much on how I even got here, but I assume that I'm now on this planet called "Earth". Though it isn't rare for a mobian to be on earth. A lot of our kind actually migrated here. As for the humans, they rather stay on their dying planet then moving over onto ours. I don't care though, their business has nothing to do with me.

The jaguar was holding onto my shoulder as if I would run away or something. He's cautious, that's good. I should give him credit for thinking that I could escape. Though even if I escape, I don't know how to get back onto Mobius.

We finally entered what looked like the central floor. The whole place was buzzing with people in uniforms with the letters "H.I.H" written on the back and front. I saw all types of different people; brown, black, woman, female, teenagers, etc. And I also variety of mobians walking about. From what I could tell, I'm the only hedgehog. We went inside a big elevator, Marcel clicked on the very last button which was floor number 50. Great. Elevator music.

"What the hell does H.I.H mean?" I blurted out.

The jaguar quickly glanced down at me then back up. "Hope In Humanity." He quietly said.

Hope in humanity? What the heck. "Why? You guys some sort of like, anti government?" I question again.

Marcel sighed. "Of some sort. We don't really hate the government. We simply want to make Earth a better place."

"Why are you involved with this? You're a mobian, not a human." I scoffed.

"It doesn't matter where I'm from. It only matters on what I choose to protect." He said in a stern voice. He then looked down at me and glared. "Earth is my home and I choose to protect it. What are you protecting?"

I opened my mouth, but nothing came out. I adverted my face and stared at the floor. Marcel lowly chuckled as the elevator dinged. I looked back up to see the doors slowly opening. When they were finally opened, I saw the brown hair girl from earlier, standing in a lab coat with a bunch of other humans standing in the same attire. The room was pure white with a weird contraption in the far back. It had a huge cylinder container with a bunch of wires and tubes connecting to another thing that looked like a bed inside a container.

"Hello."

I snapped my head to the side to see a young girl with blonde hair and big blue eyes staring at me. She wore a blue dress and a matching headband, with her hands clasped behind her back, smiling at me.

"What you staring at?" I hissed at her.

Her smile soon faded and she took a step back. Marcel hit the back of me head and pushed me forward to the group of humans. I began to walk forward as the blonde girl burned two huge holes in the back of my skull. Really wish these shackles were off so I can ripped those eyeballs right out of her head.

"Perfect timing Marcel! You can leave the hedgehog over here." The lady name Victoria stated. "Oh wait! Take off his shackles first. His wrist and ankles must hurt from wearing those for a long time."

Marcel froze. "Victoria, did you forget who this kid is?" He said in a baffled voice.

"Hm? No, of course not. I trust him though." Victoria brightly smiled and went back to talking to the others which I assume are scientists.

Marcel opened my shackles slowly and whispered in my ear. "Do anything funny and you're dead."

I shrugged and started rubbing my sore wrist. I like to see you try. I was about to make a run for it to the elevator, but that stupid blonde chick was standing extremely close to me face, blocking my way. How did she even get this close to me without me noticing!?

"You're a hedgehog right?" She said sweetly.

I furrowed my eyebrows and glared at her. "What else do I look like?"

I suddenly felt someone grab my wrist and place a bracelet around it. I looked up to see Victoria.

"Oh, sorry." She apologized. "It's just that you are pretty good at escaping and killing people so, I'm placing a tracking device on you."

She lets go of my wrist and I examine it. It was a dull grey with a low flashing red light in the middle. I cursed to myself for letting such a thing be place on me. Great. Now I can't escape. Wasn't she the one that said she trusted me?

Marcel left through the elevator along with some of the other scientists. Victoria leaned her butt over a examining table and signalled for me to come over. As I followed her, I heard another pair of footsteps following behind me. I gritted my teeth together, knowing full well that it was that stupid blonde girl skipping along.

"Okay!" Victoria clasped her hands together and brightly smiled at me. "You must be wondering what this place is, right? And like why we brought you here, right?"

I hated her cheerful positive attitude. I stood there with my arms crossing my chest and just looked away.

"Now, now..." Victoria chided. "Don't be like that uh..." She trailed off her sentence and nervously looked at me. She was waiting for me to inform her about my name and address me formally.

"Dead End." I grinned. "People call me Dead End because I kill whoever dares to defy me."

I saw Victoria's smile falter for a second and the blonde girl backing away from me. That's right. Fear me.

"S-surely there must be another name we can call you by..." Victoria scratched the back of her head and sweat dropped.

"Shadow!" The blonde girl exclaimed with delight.

We both looked over at her. She had her hands into two tight fists tucked under her chin, with a beaming smile on her face. "Your new name should be Shadow! Because... Because..." She pouted and started thinking hard for an explanation, but couldn't seem to find the words to.

"Beeeecauuse you're mysterious like the shadows!" Victoria snapped her fingers together.

"Yeah, yeah! And-and your quills are the colour black, and you seem good at hiding your feelings along with hiding from others." The blonde girl closed her eyes and smiled at me.

I rapidly blinked between the two girls and smacked my forehead in disbelief. So much positive energy around here. It makes me sick. "Call me whatever you feel like." I started walking up to the elevator door, but Victoria called me back.

"Hold on mister!" She ran over to me, grabbing my wrist and pulled me back to my original spot. "You have a job to do now."

"A job?" I scoffed.

"Mhm!" She nodded her head and then grabbed something off the table. She handed me a silver necklace with a blank dog tag on it. "You're an agent of this organization now, Shadow."

I blankly stood there, staring at the necklace, then bursted out laughing. "You're kidding me right? What makes you think that I wanna work for your stupid group?"

Victoria placed a finger on her cheek and looked up at the ceiling, thinking. She then knelt down, grabbed my hand and placed the necklace inside. "Because we can pay you, and I know you like money." She said in a low voice.
