I Got A Date With Sonic! Chapter 4

Finally the bells rings indicating that lunch time was over. I stood up the second I heard the sound and wait for Sonic to get up as well. Blaze and Silver went to go walk each other to their classes while the rest of the gang, along with Tails, walked off with that stupid Shadow. I was so lost in my thoughts, that I didn't realized that Sonic wasn't beside my anymore. I frankly turn in all directions until I found the noticeable blue image. I scurried over until I was walking side my side with my Sonic again. He notice I was beside him again and gave me a smile. I swear, I instantly got butterflies in my stomach from that one notion.

"What class do you have next Sonic?" I twirled one of my quills in a flirtatious way, not something I'm comfortable doing.

"Mmmm, math I believe. I might just skip it though." He walked with his hands behind his back and leaned slightly backwards.

"Sonic, you shouldn't do that. How are you gonna graduate if you don't pass all your classes?"

Sonic cocked an eyebrow and turn his impressed expression to me. "Huh? How'd you know I was failing to begin with?"

"Oh come on Sonic, I've practically known you all my life. I know you like the back of my hand." Wow. I sound like a obsessive stalker.

Sonic chuckled and stopped in front of a classroom. I looked up at the sign to read "acute room 1134" AKA, math room 1134, I don't know why our school thought it was clever to name some of the classrooms using their designated course terminology.

"Well I'll see you around--" Sonic was heading into his class until my hand moved on their own and held onto Sonic's arm.

"Uuhh.... R-right!!" I quickly withdrew my arm and stood perfectly straight and cleared my throat. "D-do you remember what I was saying to you before everyone else joined the table?"

Sonic awkwardly scratched the back of his head, embarrassed he didn't remember. I wasn't surprised though, I was just hoping he did remember. "Um.. Sorry Ames, I don't remember, what were you saying?"

"I...um... Was saying would you like to go out with me to the mall on Saturday? I sorta assumed you did hear me because you looked at me when Knuckles asked you if you were busy that day with anything." I found myself looking down and twiddling my fingers as a sign of anxiety. Sonic didn't reply as fast as I thought, he took a long time, it was like he was contemplating something. I looked up to make sure I wasn't talking to myself, and relieved that I was still facing Sonic outside his class. He's face didn't show any sign of emotion, but I swore I could see sadness in his eyes. Why?

"Sonic?" I waved my hands in front of his face making sure he wasn't sleeping with his eyes open or something.

Sonic shook his head and focus back onto me. "Huh? O-oh yeah..." He scratched the back of his head and adverted his eyes somewhere else.

"I-I guess I could go out with you..."

I felt my heart swell up with joy. I had to control myself from lunging my whole body onto Sonic. Stay calm, stay calm, don't freak out, it's not like you just got yourself a date with the guy of your dreams.

"A-awesome!! I'll see you at 12 in the afternoon?"

"...sure, 12 sounds great."

You can practically hear the delight in my voice. "Well, aha, I'm looking forward to this! I should let you go into class now. I'll see you Saturday then!"

I was about to turn around and start jogging towards my social studies class, when Sonic called out my name. "Wait Ames! I'm... I'm ... I might be late coming to meet ya okay? Just wait for me in front of the big water fountain in central square alright?"

I don't care how late you'll be, I'll wait forever for you Sonic! "Alright sure!"

"No you gotta promise me, you won't move from that spot until I come, okay?"

I titled my head to the side in confusion, but still had that bright lit up smile on my face. "Yeah sure, I won't mind if you're late by 30 minutes or even later."

"Oh, okay that's good. I'll see you then"

"Hehe, see you Sonic!" I waved bye as Sonic waved back.

I sprinted down the hallway to my class, not caring that the late bell rang 2 minutes ago. Nothing could ruin my day, nothing could possibly make me more happier than Sonic going on a date with me!
