Intervene Chapter 32

"Fight, fight, fight!" The crowd cheered. I watch in horror as Rouge and Fiona walked in circles, waiting for one another to throw the first punched.

"B-blaze we gotta find the teachers and-" my eyes widen even more when Blaze and Silver were approaching Scourge. Scourge just laughed and pulled his arms apart, welcoming them to come forward.

"Yeah, YEAHH! Let's get this party started! I'll take both you idiots on!" Scourge sneered.

Blaze and Silver gritted their teeth. Their whole body was tensed, fully aware that they knew they couldn't use their powers. You see, these two were special. Silver had the ability to use psychokinesis. But what Scourge said was right, Silver was almost deemed useless if he can't use his powers. As for Blaze, her name says it all. She can generate fire and take down opponents swiftly. She can wield them to some command, but if she gets too angry or upset, her flames naturally come out. Yeah she knew how to fight, but if Scourge keeps feeding her anger with distasteful comments, her inferno rage would definitely come out. In this school, we aren't allowed to use our powers for violence. In another words, if Blaze was caught using powers, she would be expelled.

As for me? I didn't know what to do. I didn't want to get involve with the two lingering fights, but I didn't want my friends to get hurt. I looked around hopelessly, trying to see if anyone was willing to help. Where the hell are the teachers!? I felt panic well up inside of me when I only saw joy and excitement in the crowd's eyes. They wanted this to happen, they wanted some excitement in their life.

"Hey babe." Scourge hollered.

"Yeah pumpkin?" Fiona instantly replied back.

"Looks like these morons are too scared to make the first moves. Let's show em' why they shouldn't talk shit to us." Scourge deviously smirked.

"With pleasure. I'll rip those wings right off your back!" Fiona crackled.

The fox and hedgehog sprinted at my best friends. All three of them stood there grounds, unwilling to move. Fiona lifted up her first and jumped high in the air, ready to punch straight down into Rouge. As for Scourge, he was just as fast as Sonic. He zig zagged from one area to the next, making Blaze and Silver's lose full focus on him. I had to do something... But what!? I can't use my hammer to stop this, I don't even know how to hand to hand combat like these three. I closed my eyes shut, and held my hands close to me chest and hunched over.

"Shadow, Sonic--anyone! Help!!" I screamed at the top of my lungs.

I heard the crashing force of Fiona's fist landing on the hard floor. Not only that, but I heard what sounded like fist colliding with something solid. Suddenly, the crowd grew deadly quiet. H-huh? What happened? I slowly opened my eyes, afraid to see one of my friends knocked out on the floor. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw a familiar red and black hover shoes on the white tiled floors. Shadow...

"Get off of me!" Fiona yelled, trying to release herself from Shadow's gasp.

Shadow was pinning down Fiona onto her belly with his right knee and his hands tightly binding Fiona's arms behind her. He had no expression and looked like he was using little effort to contain Fiona under his weight.

"What's the meaning of this Rouge?" Shadow asked sternly.

Rouge raised her hands up in defence. "Don't ask me. Ask the source of the problem." She pointed at Scourge.

I followed the direction of her finger and gasped. Scourge's fists were stopped by Sonic holding onto his fists. Both their arms shook with tension and they both had a sly smirk.

"I was wondering when you were gonna show up blue boy. Too bad you couldn't show your face after your friends got beat up." Scourge said in a strained voice.

Sonic pushed Scourge forward, making him lose his footing and stagger backwards. 

"Beat it Scourge. You know me and Shadow can take your clique on any day." Sonic said through gritted teeth.

Scourge darken his expression and tsk. He brought his hands back to his leather collar and popped it. "You're gonna eat those words blue boy. "

Shadow grabbed ahold onto Fiona's hair and swung her up, forcing her to stand up on her feet. He still kept her hands behind her back, as she let out a painful yelp. Scourge's face suddenly turned white with concern and focused his attention onto Shadow.

"H-hey!!" Scourge angrily shouted. "Hands off my girl!"

Shadow pulled on Fiona's hair even more and gave him a smug look. "Leave us alone and I'll do that."

Fiona had tears in the corner of her eyes. She held a pleaded expression to Scourge while she continued to struggle. Scourge's face winced and he bared his jagged teeth to Shadow. In the background, I saw Knuckles pushing past other people while Tails politely made his way. They were finally in the front lines watching everything. But, they weren't the only ones that caught my attention. Next to Tails, was Sally standing there with a worried look.

"Knock it off Shadow. We had our fun." Sonic calmly said.

Shadow shot a stern look at Sonic to silence him, then back to Scourge. "Beg for her back then."

"What!?" Scourge exclaimed.

"I'm not going to repeat myself. Show us that you care for your girlfriend." He tugged on her hair some more. She whimpered.

Scourge expression darken but didn't bother to say anything. He just stood there staring at Shadow in silence.

Shadow pfft. "You see that Fiona? Some boyfriend you have." He pushed her forward. She stumbled all the way to Scourge and fell into his opened arms.

"Fio, you alrigh--" Scourge was cut off by a loud sound that echoed through the whole cafeteria.

Fiona raised a hand and slapped Scourge in the same spot Rouge did. "You narcissistic welp!" She stormed off, into the crowd, shoving everyone that got into her way.

"Babe, wait up!" He hollered while trying to reach out to her. He did one final glance at Shadow and grunted. He then sprinted towards Fiona who was long gone out of the cafeteria.

"Alright people! Let's pretend we saw nothing okay?" Sonic yelled out with a smile on his face.

The crowd murmured to themselves and then disbanded. Leaving our group huddling up and filling in the two hedgehogs along with Tails and Knuckles on what happened.  Shadow's eyes then flickered towards me. I jolted up, unsure what to do or say. He then walked over to me with Sonic's gaze focused on him with a sad expression.

"Did he hurt you?" He asked sincerely.

"N-no... I feel bad that I wasn't able to do anything though." I blushed and avoided eye contact.

"That's alright. I only care for you safety..." Shadow patted my head and smiled.

I looked up with big hopeful eyes. I lunged at him, wrapping my arms around Shadow's body and dig my face into his chest fur. "Oh Shadow!" I squeaked.

Shadow placed a hand on my hips and gently smiled. "I'm kidding." He chuckled.

I pouted and look up at him. "You're lying!"

"I'm not. Seriously." He smirked with his eyelids half open.

We continued to argue while the group we're trying to fill in Sonic, Knuckles and Tails with the detail. But Sonic's focus was on us. Not even Sally could get Sonic's attention. His gaze was just, fixated on us.
