For Love Chapter 26

"W-what....." My voice was so low, that I could barely hear it. Shadow is... Dating someone right now...?

Rouge leaned forward from seat and grabbed onto my shaking hands, trying her best to comfort me. "That's why I said I was confused. Look, Shadow may act like a total asshole, but trust me, he ain't one." She frowned and adverted her eyes away from mine. "Er... Well... he isn't a total asshole, he just acts... Tough... Anyways, back to what I was trying to say; for me to hear that Shadow is willing to do this fake relationship and even allows you to chase after him, either means that he broke up with his last girlfriend or there is clearly a misunderstanding."

I felt my heart feeling the same pain when Sonic didn't show up for our date. I just didn't know what to feel anymore. I looked at our hands connecting with each other and I wanted to scream to the top of my lungs.

"Amy..." Rouge hushed. "Do not tell anyone that I told you that alright? For all that I know, we are the only two that knows about Shadow's long distance relationship."

"But Rouge..." My voice shook. "What do I do now? I start falling for a guy and now I hear that he has someone else?" I felt tears welling up inside my eyes, trying to flow out of the corners.

Rouge squeezed my hand. "Don't cry. A lady shouldn't cry over trivial things like boys."

"But..." I was starting to quietly gasp for air.

"Dearie, I know you're stronger than this! If you love Shadow, then go after him..."

I widen my eyes and looked up at Rouge.

"Fight for him! Show him that you're way better than that other chick" she widely grinned, something that is pretty rare on Rouge. "Don't give up just because you hear one bad news. If Shadow really loves his girlfriend, then he wouldn't have accepted being in a fake relationship with you."

I pulled back my hands and wiped the tears forming inside my eyes. I weakly smiled at Rouge. "You know what, you're right. I lost Sonic to Sally, and I'm not ready to lose Shadow forever because of this random girl. I'll show Shadow what I'm really made of!"

"That's the spirit Amy." Rouge cheered.

"I need to make Shadow fall in love with me before our fake relationship ends. If we do break up, Shadow won't have a reason to keep hanging out with me then"

"Not to mention Shadow's hates drawing unwanted attention to himself." Rouge added on. "You guys are the talk of the school, hearing the break up would only fuel them even more."

"Thank you Rouge for that pep talk. I'll try my best for me and Shadow to become a thing." I said with sincerity.

"Anytime pumpkin, just remember not to mention this to anyone. Not even Shadow alright?"

I nodded my head. Just as we finished our conversation, Blaze and Cream emerge from the washroom.

"Sorry, the sinks weren't working and we didn't want to leave with filthy hands." Cream said a little bitterly.

"So we had to fix the sinks ourselves." Blaze said in an unfazed tone.

Me and Rouge blankly gazed up at the two in astonishment. "You... Fixed the sinks?" I asked in disbelief.

Blaze nodded her head while Cream rubbed the back of her's. "Blaze is surprisingly handy with her, uh... Hands."

Rouge bursted out laughing. I soon joined in the delight, so amazed that Blaze would do such a thing. Soon after, Cream joined in, leaving Blaze standing with her eyes flickering between us with confusion. "What's so funny? Did I do something?"

Cream shook her head. "No, you did nothing wrong Blaze. Just promise that you will never change."

Blaze arched an eyebrow and just kept giving us a funny look. I wiped a tear from the corner of my eye, feeling satisfied that I laughed enough. I soon became quiet, as my three best friends started talking among themselves. I guess that's good that Rouge doesn't like Shadow. Tomorrow, I'll try my best for him. I held a hand over my heart and closed my eyes. I'll make sure not to repeat the same mistake I had with Sonic!
