Chapter Three

"Okay, get out." Xander said as we reached what looked like a library. The only thing that lead me to believe that is the broken sign next to a wall that could collapse at any moment.
We all hopped out of the car and slammed the doors shut.
"No offense Xander but I think we would have been safer at that Gas Station." Katia says once she sees the ruins.
"It is not this! Do you guys really think I'm stupid?" Xander said pointing at the wreckage of the building.
"Well we did pick you up in a parking lot...." Gaby said and walked over to pick up a saw that was one the floor.
"Okay major safety hazard." I said wondering if a zombie would pick it up.
"What is with you and after hazards? It is an appocalypse for gods sake." Gaby said faintly touching her bruise on her head from the accident. Gaby winced in pain.
"Really you still haven't learned. What if a Z picked up the saw?" I said placing my hand on my hip.
"Big if."Katia said inspecting a wall.
"Whatever. Just follow me." Xander said and went through the middle of the wreckage and came upon a half intact shack.
"Okay..... " Elizabeth said once inside the small shack. All that was in the shack was a toilet and soggy toilet paper. Xander picked up a wooden circle shapped flap that was on the floor of the shack.
"Go in and when a man grabs you and asks what is you name say I come in peace and prosperity." Xander instructed and pushed Elizabeth toward the hole.
"What is this some sort of hippie thing?" I asked once Elizabeth went down into the hole.
"It is a password." Xander replied as Gaby went down. I heard a thump as she reached the ground and footsteps that came from the left side of the tunnel below.
Now I know how to avoid them. I just have to be silent.
"You can't avoid them." Xander said as if reading my mind.
"Why ever not exactly?" I asked frustrated at this piece of news. I hate people grabbing me it just gives me a fighter instinct to get away. This includes hugs unless I deeply trust the person but most of the time I hug the person.
"Because they got a hound that sniffs you out. Plus just follow with the rest of us. If you don't want to get grabbed just say authority." Xander says rolling his eyes. Katia had already went so that just left me and Xander in the small shack. I stared at the hole for a while before stepping an inch closer.
"Just go already!" Xander yelled and pushed me closer to the hole.
"I'm going." I said and began to descend into the hole. I climbed the ladder to the bottom and felt a hand begining to grip my shoulder.
"Authority!" I scream and feel the hand release my shoulder and shines a light into my eyes.
"Hey!" I say and bat the flashlight away into the floor. Xander comes down the ladder behind me and sighs. "You are the worst at confrontation."
"I don't do good with random strangers grabbing me in a dark underground tunnel. That is way different by like a longshot." I reply as Xander leads me away from the entrance. One outside the entrance the walls shift to concrete. Gaby, Katia and Elizabeth wait there talking to a man with black hair and green eyes.
"Hey Ash!" Xander says moving towards Zach to give him a thump on the back. I look at the guy and guess his name fits him because he sort of reminds me of coal.
"This is Ash. Ash this is Kristina, Elizabeth, Katia and Gaby." Xander says pointing at each of us in turn.
"Well I know everyone except for that one." Ash says and points at me.
"I have a name." I reply.
"Okay okay. I know everyone except for Kristina." Ash rephrases as I nod.
"Well we are staying here for tonight and then we'll leave again." Xander says explaing to Ash. Gaby pulls me Elizabeth and Katia to the side.
"I like that one can we take him?" Gaby asks once out of earshot of the guys.
"What!" a startled Elizabeth exclaims.
"Gaby for real." Katia says rolling her eyes.
"No." I say and glare at Gaby.
"Why not? He's hot and has colored eyes." Gaby protests.
"If I see his is capable of surviving them we'll take him. Plus what if he has a girlfriend?" I ask wondering if Gaby has thought it out.
"I asked him he doesn't." Gaby says and shakes her head.
"Wow." I respond and head back to Xander and Ash.
"What did you guys talk about?" Xander asks and I'm about to open my mouth when Gaby comes up from behind me and says nothing. She hugs me from my left side.
"Right Dotson."
"Right." I reply and shake her off.
"Whatever." Elizabeth says and leans against the wall.
"Well I was wondering if we could take Ash with us....?" Xander says and stares at Katia.
I snap my fingers and walk to the side and everyone follows including Ash.
"Shoo!" I say and wave my hands at Ash. He gives me a glare and walks about twelve feet to the left.
"Okay, I do not see potential in that guy." I say and Xander opens his mouth to protest. I wave my hand to silence him but he continues.
"Look he is actually really strong I have known him since I was twelve." Xander says backing up Ash.
"I don't know." Elizabeth says and looks at Ash who is sitting down staring up at the ceiling and waiting for his verdict.
"If Xander says he is strong I believe he is strong." Gaby says receiving a high five from Xander.
"You'll believe anything." Katia mutters.
"Fine me and Elizabeth will test him and them we will see how it goes." I reply trying to satisfy everyone. Everyone nods their heads and we walk toward Ash.
"So...." Ash says expectantly.
"You have to take a strength and capability test to see if you're allowed in." I say and nudge Elizabeth.
"Oh and you have to take it like now." Elizabeth says taking my hint.
"Okay." he nods.
"Show us a room where no one goes and we can do this quickly." I say and he leads us down a hallway. The walls change to quartz as we go. He turns to the right and five doors are on two sides of a wall. Three on one side and two on the other. He opens the second one on the side with three doors and enters. We all go inside the gym with a ring in the back.
"Good enough?" Ash asks and gestures around the room.
"Perfect let's get started." I say and sit in a chair on one corner of the ring.
"Be prepared you're about to enter the gates of hell." Gaby says and sighs dramatically and plops into a nearby bench which is by the entrance.
