"Everything's set up." Katia and Gaby said.
"Great." Kristina said.
It had been a long day and the sun was already coming out.
Kristina lit a candle, and saw a shadow behind her. She turned to see Ash smiling.
"Hey guys." Ash said happily making his was towards Gaby.
"Hey Ash." All of them said. Gaby said it happily, Katia said it with a bored expression, and Kristina said it as if she hated his guts. Which she did.
Xander and Elizabeth came jogging. Elizabeth had sacks and sacks of food.
Kristina saw Xander and her mind went reeling. She hadn't assigned him a job, so he either left the room or eavesdropped and then left before Kristina came out.
Xander carried lots of food as well. She hoped he hadnt heard anything.
Jax came behind them also carrying food. Romeo came behind him carrying blanket and pillows along with eight empty bags.
They all dropped the stuff down, and Kristina and Gaby moved towards it.
Kristina started to assign bags.
She got up, and opened the entrance. She pulled her bag in, and closed the entrance. She got a journal and ripped out a page and got scissors. She cut eight even strips and wrote everyone's name on one. She put each paper in the side pocket of each backpack. Everyone watched her do this until Gaby spoke up.
"Who brings school supplies to an Apocalypse." Gaby asked.
"Someone who's resourceful." Kristina replied and gave Gaby a glare.
"Ugh are you going to like put food in each backpack like....however or?" Jax asked.
"Well I'm going to split it up so whatever you get you can eat. Also you don't have to ask someone else to provide for you, or waste food because your hungry. It'll all just fall back on you." Kristina explained.
"Why can't we just have it all to everyone?" Gaby asked.
"Because then people want to eat more than their share." Kristina said and smiled.
"Go and cook this Xander." Kristina said and slid him a three potato's, a dish, a match, and raw meat across the floor. She suspected everyone was hungry.
"Make mashed potato." Kristina said and went back to sorting food.
"Uh....we need a fire." Gaby said.
"We have a match." Xander said.
"Does anyone have wood or tinder?" Romeo asked.
Kristina pulled out a shirt from her backpack and tossed it to them.
"Thanks." Jax called over his shoulder.
Katia got a knife Gaby passed her and shredded the shirt. Jax and Romeo collected twigs from outside, and Xander lit the match.
"Uh....how did you light the match?" Gaby asked.
Xander threw the match into the makeshift fire.
"Ever since I was little I learned if I struck a match against my skin it would light up. I don't really know why." Xander explained.
Xander noticed they needed something to hold the meat over the fire.
Elizabeth handed him a pan.
"Where did you find that?" Xander asked.
"Kitchen. I was gone while you guys started the fire." Elizabeth explained. She had a hunch they were going to need one.
"Thanks." Xander replied.
"Gaby make mashed potatoes." Xander said over his shoulder.
"On it." Gaby replied and began to peel the potatoes.
Elizabeth went over to Jax. He was messing with a blade. Flipping it and catching it.
"Shouldn't you not do that?" Elizabeth asked and plopped down next to him.
Kristina watched them from a distance. She noticed she did a lot of watching lately. She watched Gaby and Ash in the bathroom, she watched Xander trying not to get eaten by a zombie, she watched Jax and Romeo discussing what they were going to do.
"There's a lot of thing you shouldn't do in the world, yet we do them." Jax replied. He almost pricked himself with the blade.
"Be careful!" Elizabeth screamed and grabbed the blade away from him.
"Hey!" Jax said. His sleeve lifted up to reveal a tattoo.
"What's that?" Elizabeth asked curiously. She reached to touch it, but Jax slapped her hand.
"If I show it to you will you give me my knife back?" Jax asked.
"Most likely." Elizabeth replies.
"I got it when I was young, so do not judge me." Jax said and pulled up his sleeve.
It showed a rune. To Elizabeth it looked like a bunch of scribbles.
"What does it mean?" Elizabeth asked tracing it with her finger.
"Parabatai in other words two people wear this run as a symbol of friendship. Its from a book I read that interested me when I was young." Jax explained while Elizabeth traced it.
Ash peered over and to him it looked like Jax was showing Elizabeth his muscles while Elizabeth poked at it.
"Hey what are you doing Elizabeth. Did he tell you he works out?" Ash yelled over.
Elizabeth blushed crimson, while Jax kept his cool. Jax pulled his sleeve down, got up, and walked over to Ash.
"And what are you doing flirting with Gaby?" Jax asked seeing Gaby across from Ash. Gaby was almost done with the mash potatoes.
Ash was at lost for words, and Gaby just shrugged not caring to get into the affairs of the boys.
"Whatever." Ash mumbled.
"Done!" Xander called out saving everyone from an awkward silence.
Everyone gathered around to eat meat and mash potatoes.
Kristina handed out the meat while Gaby handed out the mash potatoes.
"Okay everyone feel free to eat." Kristina said as she took her plate to where she was handing out food.
Katia, Gaby and Elizabeth sat together talking about cows and aliens invading the earth. Also about how the Zs would attacks them, and mutant zombies would rule the world.
Jax, Ash, and Romeo sat together and talked about who had the best survival weapon out of all the group. Ash also told them what happened in the bathroom leaving out the hug, crying, and what Gaby and Ash thought were their last words to one another.
Xander went over to Kristina with his plate and peeked into his bag.
"Get. Shoo shoo!" Kristina said.
"I'm not a dog." Xander replied.
"Well there's a fine for sitting here." Kristina said.
"What's the fine." Xander said and ate his mash potatoes.
"You have to help me get stuff from the car." Kristina replied and made her way for the entrance.
"Be careful for zombie mutant cows and aliens!" Gaby screamed over her shoulder.
Kristina smiled glad to have her weird Gaby back.
