"Where have you been?!" Kristina whisper shouted.

"And this concerns you because....." Ash whispered back while he lied on the floor. Kristina towered over him casting a dark shadow across his face.

"Because you going to see Persephone!" Kristina shouted while she threw her arms up in exasperation.

"Keep you voice down." Ash replied.

"Oh please, the others are asleep." Kristina said casually as footsteps were heard climbing quickly down the steps. Kristina quickly rolled under the couch while Ash squatted on the floor.

"Hello? Anybody down here?" Katia said. She looked just over the wall while she stood on the steps. Gaby's head came over hers.

"See I told you Gaby no ghosts are down here. The story of Nathan's haunted house was a fake." Katia said and sighed.

"If they were a fake why did we hear voices. Plus, maybe we are not gifted with the sight." Gaby replied as she threw an accusing glance at the room.

"What sight? You're just being ridiculous." Katia said.

"Duh! You have to have the sight to see ghosts. Did you not pay any attention to the story?" Gaby asked looking down at Katia.

"That story was told in the seventh grade. I hardly even remember it!!" Katia replied as Gaby grunted. They headed back up the stairs.

"Look at what you did! We would've gotten caught if they had stepped foot into this room! Where's Nathan anyway?" Ash whispered. Looking around for Nathan.

"Well I needed a distraction for him to go, so I pretended to be his dead mother and told him that if he spent the night outside and his mother would walk upon the earth again.." Kristina replied as a gunshot echoed outside.

"This proves you're a cold heartless soul! The poor guy is probably going to get bit." Ash replied looking outside with pity.

"Please, he made my junior high years hell. He deserves what he got." Kristina said with disgust remembering how Nathan always invaded her personal space.

"Why are you here anyways?" Ash asked changing the subject.

"To prevent you from seeing Persephone of course what else?" Kristina replied bluntly.

"She asked me to go see her. That doesn't mean she is going to kill me. Plus, what do you think! That I'm just going to betray everyone here and go and hang out with our aunt?"

"Actually...yes." Kristina said frankly.

"I hate you." Ash replied and made a dash for the door.

"Don't you dare I will tell every living soul in this house!" Kristina whispered.

"Yeah, I will too. And if you leave my questions won't be answered." A voice said. It came from the kitchen. Kristina was familiar with that voice. She knew it had to be Elizabeth. She sighed and knew Elizabeth would tell every living soul in the world if they didn't answer at least one of her questions. Ash moaned audibly and moved away from the door. Kristina and Ash entered the kitchen like kids who had been caught waiting for judgement from their parents. Parent in this case.

Elizabeth sat at the table eating a bowl of cereal. She had Kristina's brother's phone lying face down on the table, and as always she was listening to some Fall Out Boy song.

"Um...I actually just said that for effect. I have no idea what you guys are talking about, but I'm on Kris's side." Elizabeth said and continued to eat her cereal. Kristina grabbed a pan and pretended to inspect it.
