Zombie Apocalypse

Chapter 44

"LET ME DO IT!" Kristina yelled at James. She pulled her ankle near her. The bone stuck out in an odd angle rendering Kristina unable to walk.

"You don't know how!" James screamed back at her in frustration. He reached out for her ankle.

"Xander! Do something!" Katia pushed Xander towards Kristina.

"Kris, look. James needs to set it. It will hurt like hell, but it'll be fine right after." Xander explained.

"Don't you think I know that? All you need to do is push the bone back in and it'll be fixed." Kristina curled her hand into a fist and prepared to set her bone.

Romeo grabbed her wrist. "James is a doctor. Now listen. I will ground you and tie you up with Nathan."

"Hey!" Nathan shrieked in his defense.
"Shut up." Romeo told him and turned back to Kristina.

Kristina finally gave her ankle to James.

"Took you long enough." James muttered as he interlinked his hands together.

Kristina breathed deeply and closed her eyes. She squeezed her thigh nervously.

James brought his fists down hard and his hands collided with Kristina's bone to push it back in. Kristina's bone returned to its place with a click.
"God. That took forever. Whew." Kristina said breathing quickly.

"Do you feel any pain?" James asked Kristina.

"Nope, I'm fine." Kristina smiled for reassurance. She started to walk and the pain she had had died down.

"Okay, we are very close to the hospital."  James reported to Romeo. He looked at their leader and squinted because of the sun behind Romeo.

"Okay, we will take a break then. Partner up." Romeo watched everyone partner back up with their usual partners.

Katia slinked to Romeo's side awkwardly. She thought about what happened last time. They had definitely received many weird looks when the came back drenched with water and mud stains.

Kristina stretched her ankle to see if she would be able to run today. Xander rolled his eyes beside her.

Ethan and Jax looked at everything but each other awkwardly.

Kalani grinned as Kayden eyed Xander suspiciously. Kalani bumped Kayden to get his attention, but quickly glanced in the other direction.
Scrap tumbled over to Ethan and laid at his feet.

Nathan and Devin kept sitting down in the same spot they were in.

"Okay, you all are free." Romeo ordered as he and Katia started to walk off.

Ethan frowned and sighed as he ran a hand through his hair. He was about to pick up Scrap when he felt a hand on his shoulder making him jump.

"Just me, Ethan. I told Xander to get lost, so he went to go hang out with Jax. I wanted to...uh...take you to someone I know..." Kristina explained quickly.

"But how-" Ethan questioned her before being dragged away.

"No time for questions." Kristina said as she dragged herself and Ethan away.

Romeo and Katia-

Romeo wondered if Katia remembered what happened between them last free day. His curiosity was partly why he initiated the free day in the first place.

"So what are we going to do...?" Katia asked in the silence.

"We could go to another water source or..." Romeo shrugged. He felt himself blush and hoped Katia didn't notice. For some reason, he felt like he shouldn't be doing what he was doing, but he suddenly had developed this interest with Katia.
