"Who where you with?"
"What did you do?"
"Kristina, please tell me you didn't kiss someone."
"YOU'RE YOUNG!"
"Kris, what did you possibly do?"
"Yeah, what did Jax see?"
"Are you sure you should leave him with the guys?"
The questions had rolled in once Katia locked the door.
"Look, I'm not telling you even if you slit my throat." Kristina replied. She moved towards the door. Elizabeth stood in front of it and smirked. She thought this was funny, because Kristina always used to tease her about the guys she liked.
"Why not?!" Katia asked.
"We're you friends!" Gaby added.
"No!" Kristina shouted.
"Then at least tell us what happened with your face." Elizabeth said.
"Fine. Romeo came in while I was on the treadmill, and startled me. I slipped, and the treadmill did this." Kristina said and pointed at her face.
Kristina moved Elizabeth aside, and left the room.
"I bet on Xander." Gaby said.
"I bet it was Jax." Katia replied.
"How if he was the messenger?" Elizabeth countered.
"Exactly, what if he tricked Dotson?" Katia said.
"True." Elizabeth said as they left the room.
"I don't think it's possible to trick that girl, but there's a first for everything." Gaby said and shrugged.
Everyone was seated, and was eating breakfast. Gaby, Katia, and Elizabeth grabbed a plate and started to discuss where they were going to go.
Kristina sat down, and stuffed her blankets in her backpack and wondered out of sight.
"Who was it!?!?" Gaby screamed once Kristina left. Everyone started at Jax including Xander. Xander was prepared to lie and doubt everything.
"Well....I don't want to be killed and don't have a death wish, so I can't tell you." Jax replied and ate his eggs.
"She's not even here! Spill the beans." Katia said coincidentally knocking over an empty can of beans with her foot.
"Who's not here?" Kristina asked , and smiled at Katia. In her hands she carried medicinal supplied.
"I trust our little Jax here didn't open that big mouth of his." Kristina said. Jax winced at this, but nodded his head.
Nobody spoke for a bit at the awkwardness of this situation, but then another topic arose.
"So....Where are we going?" Gaby asked. She was ready to be outside instead of this deep humid hell hole.
"Good question. I don't know." Kristina said and smiled. She started to divide the medicinal ointments and such into eighths.
"What do you mean you don't know? Why do you want to be in charge all the time if you can't lead us?!" Gaby shrieked. Katia absent mindedly nodded as she thought about this.
"Actually one I'm not leader. Second, I don't know where we are going, because we have everything we need at the moment. Third, the world isn't just going to throw the cure in our faces!" Kristina replied and dusted off her hands on her pants.
"Why do you decide and do everything then?" Jax said pointing at the backpacks Kristina had organized.
"Two reasons. I don't want to die, and you all are just way to fucken lazy." Kristina said as she ticked the reasons off her fingers.
"What?! Us lazy, please." Ash said waving a hand at Kristina.
"Okay, tell me this. Who organized those backpacks? Who brought Xander here? Who got more than half the stuff in those backpacks? Who instructs on what we do? And who did you ask again where we were going to go?" Kristina said and placed her hands on her hips. She said this like a mother lecturing her children.
"You." Elizabeth said finally after a long silence. She sighed.
"Exactly." Kristina said and slung a backpack and a gym bag over her shoulder.
"Question, why do you have two bags?" Xander asks eyeing the gym bag.
"I brought this with me." Kristina replied. My mind wanders off and thinks about the Call Of Duty game that's inside. It reminds me of my brother and his room, she added in her mind.
"Fair enough." Xander said staring at the bag like he could see what's inside it by sheer will.
There was a knock on the door. Kristina started to walk over to the door very slowly.
"IM GOING TO DIE! I KNOW SOMEONES DOWN THERE! I HEARD VOICES! IM NOT CRAZY!" A voice said. It didn't sound rough and pained like a Z's voice. More like a crazy psychopath maniacs voice.
Kristina ran to the makeshift trap door and opened it. The teenager who happened to be on top of the door, so he fell in.
"Close the door!" He yelled. Kristina peeked outside to see many Zs heading their way. She closed the door hurriedly.
Jax, Elizabeth, Xander, and Gaby walked over to the strange boy.
"Uh....why are you here?" Elizabeth asked to break another silence
"How did you find us?" Jax asked.
"Devin?" Gaby said looking at Devin strangely. She wondered if he read her ship stories.
"Aren't you supposed to be in Harlingen?" Kristina asked walking over to Devin.
"I followed Kristina. Yes, I am Devin. And I was in Harlingen until I moved back here." Devin said asking one question at a time. He leaned on his back with his hands behind him.
Kristina thought he hadn't changed much. He was just taller, had thicker glasses, and was even more of a creep.
"Uh...more people by the day." Kristina said and walked away to find more food and supplies. She had to milk this place of everything they needed, and then they could leave. She also needed to charge her laptop and phone. Elizabeth used up the battery of her brothers phone by listening to Fall Out Boy.
"Devin? Do you still agree with Anger?" Gaby asked. Devin made a confused face, but said yes.
"Is it okay if I stay here?" Devin asked.
"Sure." Gaby said and shrugged her shoulder.
"Well everything has a price." Jax quoted Kristina's words when he asked if she knew where Xander was. He pulled Gaby back.
"Uh...does cash count?" Devin asked.
Gaby face palmed herself. Everyone that cash wouldn't get you anywhere in an Apocalypse.
"No." Katia said as she shifted through her supplies.
Kristina came back with a sack filled with weapons. She placed it on the floor and walked over to her new problem. AKA, Devin.
She looked at him, and grabbed Gaby.
"Tell him to empty his pockets, and put all the stuff be has on the floor in front if him." Kristina whispered to Gaby in her ear. She turned to Jax and Xander.
"Supervise." She said and walked back down the hallway.
"And she says she's not leader." Jax muttered.
"Heard that!" Kristina shouted.
"Empty your pockets, and place all that you have on the floor. Please, put it in front of you." Gaby instructed as Kristina had told her to.
Devin took a bow and a quiver of arrows off his back. Gaby was surprised. She took a step back. She didn't think Devin would posses something like that, but then again in one of her stories he owned a tank. He took a bag out of his quiver and set it down on the floor.
"Empty it." Jax said. Gaby elbowed him.
"What!?" Jax said. Gaby remained silent while Devin took out several glass bottles that were corked shut.
"What are those?" Gaby asked and squatted down to get a better look. "Vials I got from some witch lady. She told me to find Kristina and give these to her. She told me that she-" Devin started. Gaby held up her hand, so that he could stop talking. She didn't want Kristina to get mad at her, because she somehow intruded on this. The girl was terrifying when she was mad or pissed.
Devin stopped and emptied his pocket. He took out a wallet, a phone, and a case full of bobby pins and paper clips. Gaby raised her eyebrow in confusion when she saw the bobby pins, but didn't say anything.
"That's it." Devin muttered. Gaby saw a slight bulge in the sweater he was wearing.
"You sit upon the throne of lies." Gaby said and pointed at his sweater.
Devin took off the sweater, and put it on the floor. Gaby, satisfied, took a step back and examined her job. She didn't think she missed anything.
Kristina came back with her hands filled with food, more medicinal supplies, weapons, a pillow, a blanket, and a backpack.
Devin hoped the backpack, pillow, and blanket were for him.
Kristina came and stood by Gaby.
She looked down at the things.
"I want the case full of bobby pins, and paper clips. You can keep the wallet. I want the bow and quiver as well. Oh, and I need the phone." Kristina said. She moved his sweater with her foot. She saw a bulge. She looked inside the pocket to see a small notebook.
Devin slid the objects forward along with the vials.
"You can keep those you're going to need-" Kristina started.
"Some witch lady wanted you to have them. She said-" Devin started his speech again.
"We'll take about this later." Kristina said and grabbed the items off the floor.
"You can stay, but I need to get you a backpack and stuff first. Get....settled." Kristina said and walked away.
She didn't want Devin to stay, but if she kicked him out she would kook like a cold heartless soul.
Katia didn't either. She frowned when Kristina said Devin could stay. She just felt freaked out by him. Every part of her was saying that something was wrong.
Gaby and Elizabeth didn't mind. Gaby thought it was a great opportunity for the ship between him and Kristina to start. Elizabeth just didn't care.
The guys where excited to have another guy. They were excited that now there was more guys than girls.
Kristina packed Devin's backpack hurriedly, and shoved the rest of the supplied in an additional backpack and stuffed it into her gym bag.
"Take us to the witch lady you speak of." Kristina said. She tossed her gym bag to Xander. She put her backpack on and the quiver over it.
"Okay." Devin said. He didn't feel it was his place to argue.
"Uh...you're just going to trust him? I don't feel like we should, but its still you-" Romeo started.
"Shut up Rome." Kristina said and tossed Devin his backpack. She slid him a bat across the floor.
"Rome?" Romeo asked giving Kristina a quizzical look.
"Your names too long. Deal." Kristina replied and turned to everyone.
"Okay to weird lady Devin speaks of we go. No objections?" Kristina said.
Romeo raised his hand. Everyone else stayed silent. They all just wanted to go somewhere.
