When I woke up the next morning I was a little scared to leave the room again. I'd only been there for one day and all this shit was already happening. At this rate I'd be out by next week.

'Stop being a coward,' I told myself. I dragged myself out of bed and into a standing position. I ran my fingers through my hair and began walking to the door.

I immediately stopped when I heard shouting. Putting my ears to the door, I heard Demi and an unfamiliar voice.

"You're never home anyway!"

"So you thought you'd just replace me?"

"Of course not! Why would I want to do that?"

"Because I'll be out of the house in a few years."

"So? You know that I've been thinking about fostering for awhile now, and I thought you'd be happy you have someone around your age to talk to."

"I'm sixteen not fourteen."

"Two years older, Allison."

"You know what, just forget it, I'm going to my room." I listened as a door slammed shut. Soft steps soon followed and I heard the door open again.

"Allison," Demi began, "Stop being like this. I love you, you know that. I'm sorry for not talking to you and Dani both about this first."

"I just...I'm kind of excited, I guess. I know how long you've wanted to have another kid, so I'm happy for you. It's just weird."

"I know, baby. I'm sorry."

It was silent for a while before I heard the voice, eh, Allison, speak again.

"Yeah, fine, whatever. So can I meet her?"

Demi told her yes before the two of them began talking in hushed whispers. After a minute I heard the door open andshut again and I ran to the bathroom inside my room.

There was no way I was coming out right now, after listening in on their argument it'd be too awkward.

I heard steps get closer and closer to the bathroom.

"Hey Sam, plan on coming out anytime soon?" Demi giggled.

I hesitated to answer. "Im about to take a shower?"

"I'm sure you were. Come out, there's someone I wan't you to meet."

"I'm naked."

"Samantha."

"What?"

"Stop hiding in there and come out.."

"I don't want to," I groaned.

"Why not?"

"Because I don't want it to be awkward.." I heard Demi sigh.

"It won't be. Now come on, I'm about to make breakfast." I opened the door to see Demi standing there, a small smile on her face. I look over to see a girl, Allison , standing next to her.

I blushed and ran past the two into the kitchen and sat. A few seconds later they both entered the room, laughing silently at me which made me blush even more.

The black haired girl came and sat beside me.

"I'm Allison, in case you're wondering.."

"Sam.." I said back.

"I kind of knew that." I blushed again.

...

After dinner we all, including Dani, sat in a circle and played a game to "get to know each other better." It was cool, I guess.

"Sam.." I hear Allison call out. I turn my head to find everyone staring at me with a concerned look.

"You okay?" I fake a smile.

"Uh...yeah. Just a little tired." Allison smiles at me.

"Well it is one in the morning." Demi's eyes go wide.

"Is it really?!" She exclaimed, "Danielle get your butt in bed! You too Alli, you all have school in the morning!" She rushed.

Dani groaned, "But momma!"

"No buts, bed. Now." Demi flashed her a stern look as Dani puffed and stomped to her room. She then turned to Allison.

"Bed." She rolled her eyes.

"I'm sixteen, I can go to bed whenever I want."

"Until you turn eighteen you go to bed whenever I say. Now go." Allison rolled her eyes and stopped off to her room, almost exactly like Dani did. I chuckled.

"I don't know why you're laughing, you're about to go too." I narrowed my eyes at her.

"What? Just because you're not in school yet doesn't mean you get special treatment, little miss." I rolled my eyes and got up before being stopped.

"Wait wait, I didn't say right now. Sit." Demi demanded.

"Yes?" I asked.

Demi's eyes searched mine and hesitated a bit, "You know you can talk to me, right?" She whispered. I nodded.

"What's up?"

"The sky.." I joked. She rolled her eyes playfully.

"I'm being serious. What's going on with you, sweetheart?" I sighed.

"Nothing."

"You sure?"

I faked another smile, "I'm fine."

"I know you're lying but you can go.." She said. I walked out of the room and immediately turned back around.

Demi raised her eyebrows, "What do you need?"

"C-Can I hug you?" She laughed and ignored me, hugging me tightly and kissing my forehead.

"Go get some rest."

...

I woke up in a cold sweat. My head was pounding and I was shaking like crazy. I started to cry as I started to remember the nightmare I had. Except it wasn't a nightmare; it actually happened.

I got off of the bed and made my way towards the kitchen for a glass of water.

"Sam?" I heard someone whisper. I kept my back towards them.

"Hey?" They whispered again. It was then I identified the voice as Allison's.

"You okay?" She asked as I finally acknowledged her.

"Just a little thirsty.." She shook her head.

"You can tell me anything."

"Can you and your mom just mind your damn business?" I snapped.

I turned around to storm off to find Demi staring at me..

She didn't seem upset. Or angry, which really shocked me.

"Alli, sweetheart, get what you need and go back to bed." She continued to stare at me.

I stared back, waiting for something to happen. She pursed her lips and signaled for me to follow her.
We eventually made it to her room and she shut the door.

I stood there, shaking slightly. She turned back to look at me before coming towards me, wrapping her arms around me tightly.

"Don't be scared of me, sweetie." I relaxed into her hug.

"I'm sorry," I whispered, "I, I didn't mean-"

"I know," She cut me off. She lifted my head and tugged at my hand.

She laid down in her bed, pulling me next to her. I snuggled up into her chest while she wrapped her arms around me.

I instantly fell asleep in her arms.
