Aria.

"Sam? Are you okay?"

I looked at the pale girl staring back at me on the screen with a blank look on her face.

"Ari delete that boy's number. Now." She demanded firmly.

"What!? Why!?"

A bad feeling erupted in my stomach.

"Just do it. Please," she whispered. So I did it. Usually my first reaction would be to tell someone to fuck off. It had been the first cute guy that I had actually been attracted to in months, but I felt like I trusted Sam, and I knew from the look in her eyes that she had history with that boy and he was bad news.

You're not supposed to date your best friends exes anyways so I guess I was just following 'rules'.

Best friend. Maybe that was a little too
much too soon but we were already close to it...I think.

I hesitated before whispering, "Okay."

I'm not gonna lie, I was a little pissed. But whatever, I guess.

And then something I totally didn't expect happened. Out of the blue, Sam started to cry.

"I-I'm sorry, I know you probably hate me now or something. Just," she sighed, "I've already dated Jake and he put me through some shit. I don't want anything to happen to you." I smiled. Sam is the one person I've been actually friends with in years. I'm pretty badass, if I must say so myself, so literally everyone at school is scared of me. I think it's because I wear a lot of leather...

I saw Demi's face pop in Sam's doorway before she began talking. "Sam, time for bed! Phone off. Now."

I smirked, "You have yourself a bedtime there, Sammie?" She rolled her eyes as Demi began to giggle in the background.

"Shut up!" She groaned.

I laughed before teasing her again, "Well bye I guess, wouldn't want to leave your mommy waiting!"

"Oh my god, I hate you!"

My smirk grew bigger, "You love me."

"Yeah, yeah. Night." I rolled over onto my bed and laid there before my mom came bursting into the room.

"Hey mom, you'll never guess who I just talked to!"

She let out a deep and almost annoyed sigh, "Who?"

"D-" I was cut off by her phone ringing.

"Sorry sweetie, business call, you know I have to take it. Tell me later." She picked up her phone an left the room.

I rolled my eyes and turned back over. She never has time for me anymore.

We were actually close for a while, until she got a job at one of the biggest company's in the world, Google. It was a big deal back then because it meant we'd finally get back on our feet as a family again. Being a single mother taking care of your five year old daughter was hard especially when you where a waitress making minimum wage.

I was happy for her, why wouldn't I be?

She stopped spending time with me more and more frequently and found her first boyfriend since my dad, Darien.

I have never met my dad, and never plan to, so it was refreshing to finally have a father figure in my life.

I only have one real problem with Darien.

He's kind of is kind of abusive.

About once every few weeks he gets drunk and lashes out at me. I tried to tell my mom the first time he hit me, which was when I was six, and she never got the chance to hear about it because she was too busy with work.

That's when I started to rebel. I started to get in trouble in school and smoke and stuff, nothing really big. I know it may sound crazy for a six year old to be smoking but I did because I thought it'd get my moms attention. She never caught me, no matter how hard I tried to, so I never did. And never stopped. I even got held back in eighth grade and my mom still didn't even notice.

So then there's Darien. Even though Darien hit(s) me I still have love for him. He is the closet thing I've ever had to a dad, to a parent, even, and I was extremely thankful for that.

All wise words coming from a 15 year old. Whatever.

Sam's POV

I woke up to the smell of pancakes and bacon. Probably my two favoritest things in the WORLD. Not even a eating disorder could keep me back from bacon, even if I did throw it up afterwards.

I slowly walked to the kitchen to find Demi quietly humming to herself. Somebody's in a good mood.

"Smells good," I smile and watched as Demi literally jumped about a foot backwards. I burst out into laughter as she playfully glares and punches me in the shoulder.

"What are you doing up so early?"

"I smelled bacon," I simply stated. She turned and and gave me a weird look. I already knew what she was thinking.

"I just really like bacon, okay?!?"

"I didn't say anything."

"But you were thinking it." She sighed and turned the stove off.

"Okay, first things first, have you taken your medicine?"

"No." She pointed to the medicine cabinet and I groaned, taking my pills out and dry swallowing them.

"Second thing, I'm gonna need you to go and get Alli and Dani up to have breakfast." I nodded and went to leave.

"Oh, and make sure that Dani brushes her teeth!"

...

I walked into Alli's room first and looked around. I had never really been in her room, it was weird. It was pink with pictures of boy bands on almost every wall. She even had her own little coffee maker in her room. Of course it was Starbucks.

Such a white girl, I chuckled to myself and walked over to her bed where her figure lay sleeping.

And then at the top of my lungs I shouted, "ALLI, WAKE UP!" She immediately sprung out of bed and onto her feet before looking at me, glaring while I was cracking up with laughter. Her glare became a little more serious and I decided to make a run for it, she chased after me down the hallways and down the stairs to the living room.

"No running in the house!" Demi called out. I ran into the kitchen and hid behind the seven year old who was yawning and running her eyes.

"Really, Dani's your best defense?"

I nodded, "If it means your not gonna kill me."

She snickered, "Oh you've got a wake up call coming your way. You've messed with wrong person."

Demi looked over to Alli curiously.

"The bitch fucking screamed in my ear to wake me up!" Demi gasped.

"ALLISON DEVONNE. IM NOT GOING TO TELL YOU AGAIN TO WATCH YOUR MOUTH.

She rolled her eyes, "Whatever." I giggled before Demi turned to me and pointed.

"And you," I stopped laughing, "didn't take all of your medicine did you?"

I shook my head, "Yes I did."

"Uh-huh. Sure I believe that. You should know by now that you can't get nothing passed me, so don't even try." She handed me another bottle of pills and walked away.

...

What I put originally in this was kind of better. As I've already put out there, I lost half of this chapter for some reason still unknown to me so I had to rewrite it. But here it is so whatever.

I was also too lazy to go through and check for any errors and crap, so sorry about that.
