Sam's POV

"I heard you haven't been taking your pills."

"And?"

"And? Why haven't you?"

"Because I don't need them."

"Apparently you do, Ms. Lovato. I've heard about what's been going on lately."

"I don't believe I asked for your fucking opinion," I snapped.

"Sam, calm down. I'm on your side here, you know that."

"On my side?" I snorted.

"Yes."

Glancing down at my new so-called therapist, Julie, I clenched my jaw and quickly stood up, ready to dart out of the room.

"Samantha, please have a seat."

I growled at her, almost like a tiger ready to pounce. Julie's eyes went wide and she slowly shrunk back into her seat.

'She's actually scared,' I thought to myself before letting out a small smirk.

"Let me tell you how this is going to work," I lowered my voice, "I'm going to come in here every Thursday like I'm supposed to, you're going to let me watch Adult Swim on your little flat screen you got there until my mom picks me up, and you're going to tell her that these sessions are going fine. Understood?"

Fuck it, I'm high on adrenaline. And Demi never let's me watch Adult Swim, so it's worth the shot, right?

"Sam, when exactly was the last time you took any of your meds?"

I furrowed my eyebrows, "I dunno, like a month ago? I just threatened you and that's seriously all that you're worried about?"

"I specialize in critical and mental psychology, Ms. Lovato."

I narrowed my eyes, "What does that have to do with anything? You sayin' that I'm crazy?"

"Not at all. I'm just trying to make the point that because you have failed to take the medicine prescribed to you, you're having.. very strong.. withdraws. Some of which are causing you to act so impulsively. Sam, do you want to get better at all?"

"I don't know."

"You don't know?"

"I don't fucking know. One minute I do and the next I just want to crush every last pill that's in my medicine cabinet. I don't like taking those tablets, they make me feel weird."

"Well until you learn to control yourself you're going to have to, Samantha," Julie sighed.

I rolled my eyes once more and sat back down in the wooden chair across from her desk.

For the rest of the hour I didn't speak a word, despite Julie's constant nagging for me to open up more and pay attention.

At promptly five-thirty, there was a knock at the door.

Julie slowly made her way over to it ready to be greeted by Demi, but instead was greeted by Allison.

As soon as turned around to take in her bloodshot eyes I was standing next to her side. I may still have been pissed off at her for what she said to me but she was still my sister.

"Alli? What's wrong? Where's Mom?" I rushed out in one breath.

Tears where streaming down her face as she whispered, "Hospital."

My eyes widened as possibilities swarmed throughout my mind.

"Is everything okay?"

Allison just shook her head.

"No."
