"So I found out the gender of the baby yesterday.." she trailed off. I sat up immediately and looked at Demi with wide eyes.
"Well?"
She smiled widely.
"It's a boy."
"That's amazing!"
"I know, I'm so excited."
"So am I," I gushed. I've always wanted a little brother.
I watched as Demi stared at the ceiling, clearly lost in thought. It was almost as if she was in a dazed state.
I fumbled around with my fingers for a little while before I finally got to the courage to ask her a question that had been running through my mind for months.
"Momma," I whispered. She looked down from the ceiling at me, a smile still imprinted on her face.
"Hmm?"
"Uh, can I ask you a question?"
"Sure, honey. What's wrong?"
"Nothing. It's just.. who's.. never mind, it's not important."
"No, no, go ahead. What is it?"
"U-Uh.. w-who's the baby's dad?"
Demi's POV
I could feel my smile slowly turn into a frown at the question.
"You should've seen this coming," I scolded myself. It's not that I'm.. ashamed.. of who the father is.
Am I ashamed of how the baby was conceived? Yes.
But he's not a bad person. Hypothetically speaking.
[a/n - The flashback shown in italics is all in reference to what happened at the end of chapter 16. Feel free to go back if needed.]
I sighed as my tired eyes slowly opened. I glanced over at Sam who was pressed against my chest and Dani who was now sprawled out on the floor.
Moving my head over more I noticed the tear stains on Sam's cheeks.
I rubbed my eyes and sat up in bed.
Everything was so fucking stressful lately.
I needed to go for a drive.
*~*
"Demi? What are you doing here?"
"Who cares?"
"Uh, I do. This is kind of my house."
"I just.. I need you."
"Demi, no. I'm married and we're not seventeen anymore."
"I don't want to fuck you or anything. I just.. I need a friend. We still are friends, right?"
"Yeah. Come inside, I guess."
I smiled and trailed behind him like a lost puppy.
As soon as we made it inside I pushed him up against the wall.
"Demi," he sighed.
"Please, Nick."
"I'm. Married."
"So? When me and Joe were dating that didn't stop us from doing shit then."
"That's totally different and you know it."
"Is it really?"
He paused.
"Fine."
"Fine?"
"Fine."
"Mom?" I snapped out of my thoughts to Sam waving her hand in my face.
I rolled my eyes and swatted at it.
"Stop that."
"Are you okay? You keep zoning out..," she trailed off, "I'm sorry I asked about-"
"It's fine. You're curious, I get it. But I'd rather not talk about it now, okay?"
"Yeah. Sorry."
"It's fine. Now hand me the remote, I wanna watch Homeland."
Short and shitty, I know. But hey, now you know that Demi is in fact not the Virgin Mary! :) :) :)
And for all of you Nemi shippers out there, you're very welcome.. Kind of.
Yeah, so, anyways..
This book may or may not be drawing to an end? Idek. I feel like I'm dragging it on but at the same time I feel like I haven't really gone that far with it.. Whatever. Just ignore me, Im weird and insecure about everything and change my mind every two seconds..
BTW, HAS ANYONE ELSE SEEN DEMI'S HAIR BC WHAT THE HELL.
SHE LOOKS HOT BUT LIKE CAN SHE STOP BEING SO UNPREDICTABLE AND CUTE FOR LIKE FIVE SECONDS JESUS CHRIST
I don't really have anything else to say so..
See ya.
(Surprised I didn't say adios? Me too.)
Seriously though, get outta here.
