I sighed to myself, laying my head on the table. I glanced up at Dani who was supposed doing her homework, but instead staring at me.
"What?" I mumbled.
She cocked her head to the side and slightly frowned, "You look sad."
I shrugged, "I'm just tired, DanDan. Now you better hurry up and get that finished before mom comes in here and sees you doing your homework late." Her eyes widened and she picked up her paper quickly, going straight back to work.
I suddenly heard rumbling in the living room.
"Hey kiddos," Demi said entering the kitchen.
"Hey mom," me and Dani said simultaneously. She glanced over Dani's shoulder.
Her eyes narrowed, "Watcha workin on there, baby?"
Dani's eyes went wide with panic.
"U-Uh..nothing. Just this survey thingy that I will be continuing in my room," she got up and rushed towards her room.
Demi rolled her eyes and turned to me, "You've learned not to keep anything me by now, right? I mean, I've been around that kid since she came out of me, you'd think she'd know that I know her by now." I shrugged.
Demi eyed me weirdly, "Speaking of keeping stuff from me, you got anything you need to get off your chest?" I shook my head slightly and later my head back down.
Demi walked behind me and began to rub my back.
"What's up, honey?"
"Nothing," I mumbled.
"Oh I know it's something, or you wouldn't be in here pouting." I rolled my eyes.
"Where's Aria and Allison at?"
I grumbled, "Hell if I know."
Demi looked at me knowingly, "Now I know what the problem here is," she grinned, "someebodddyyy's jealoussss."
I glared at her,"Shut up, no I'm not."
She raised her eyebrows, "Sure you're not. But I'll tell you what, how about me, you, and Dan go watch a movie or something?" I sighed and nodded frantically, ignoring her giggles.
...
I turned from the movie and glanced at the sleeping seven year old to my right. I then turned to my left to see Demi staring at me with an amused smile.
"Gahhh!" I whispered yelled slapping her arm, "fucking creeper."
She rolled her eyes, "Watch your mouth."
"Whatever," I mumbled. She looked at me again, this time a little longer, and moved over to put her arms around me.
"They'll come around, sweetheart. I'll have a talk with them both tomorrow."
"That'd make it worse," I whispered. She sighed, kissing my forehead.
"Just give it time, love."
I began to fumble with my fingers and the hem of Demi's shirt nervously, "U-Uhm...mom?"
"Yeah, baby?"
I let my eyes drop down, "I relapsed last night."
