Chapter 19

As soon as I rushed my hand down to collide with Demi's cheek someone grabbed my wrist and flung me backwards. I looked up to Selena and Demi looking at me implausibly, Demi with tears in her eyes threatned to drop at any second. I felt as if the room was spinning, like we were the only people in the world in that moment. My head pounded as we all continued to stare at each other, the tension building.

I let my eyes fall down to my clenched hand in my lap. I licked my lips tasting salt upon them in the process. I looked back to Demi and then back to my hand repeatedly and let out a chocked gasp as if I had just snapped out of a state of being. My vision became more blurry as time passed.

I finally opened my mouth to speak but nothing was coming out. I felt Demi's and Selena's eyes on me, staring into my soul. I jumped up in a hault and ran out of the room, out of the house, ignoring the calls after me.

"You're a monster," I spat to myself.

I felt myself running out of breath and ran faster. My legs began to slow down and so did I. I looked up to see strangers all staring at me, shouting. I couldn't hear them. I squinted and tried to read their lips to see what they were saying.

A bright light swiftly caught my eyes and my hearing came back. I heard a screeching sound and finally could make out what the people were saying.

"WATCH OUT!" I jumped at the screams and went left before feeling a car lightly scrape the hem of my T-shirt.
