I looked up to my mother and father with an annoyed expression.
I was well aware that I couldn't control the rage building up inside of me, but I didn't need any help because of that. I didn't need to change myself, I was fine the way that I was.
"I don't need any anger management."
"You broke her foot, Samantha. You can't just do that to someone and not expect any consequences."
I rolled my eyes and scoffed, "She deserved it."
My mom took a step forward and placed her hands upon my shoulders, looking me sqaure in the eyes. She had a look of distress on her face, and I didn't feel the slightest bit of guilt knowing that I was the one who had caused it.
"Sam."
"What?"
"We want what's best for you. You're twelve years old, sweetheart. Not twenty."
I pursed my lips into a thin line and turned onto my heel, quickly heading towards the direction of my bedroom. I spent the rest of the night in there, ignoring the knocks on my door and the calls from my little sister, beginning me to go and play with her.
Eventually I turned off the light radiating from the celing and walked to my bed, flopping. down onto it and rolling over to enjoy a long, blissful sleep.
The next morning I had woken up feeling refreshed, forgetting about the night before.
As I made my way back into the kitchen for breakfast, voices began to fill my eyes.
"Sam, it's your turn to do the dishes. And you need to clean your room when you're finished, it's getting messy again.
"Well good morning to you too." I spat, my mood being shot to shit. I took a seat at the dining table and grabbed a piece of bacon.
"Do not get smart young lady," my dad glared, "You're still in trouble for yesterday."
Before I could respond there was a loud bang at the front door. My dad gave me a pointed look and crossed the kitchen and the living room. As he was going to twist the knob the door flew open, and two men in dark black suits were staring him in the eyes.
My heart stopped, and my ees shot around the room frantically. My mom was behind the corner of the hallway with my sister, the two of them still dressed head to toe in their pajamas. I slowly stood up and made my way out of the mens eyesight.
"Where is it?" A deep voice demeanded. I pulled myself into my mothers embrace and put a hand over my own mouth in order to keep myself from breathing loudly.
"Where's what?"
"Your money, where the hell is it?"
The air was filled with silence that seemingly lasted for forever, however in reality could've been only a minute or so. The next thing that I heard was a thump, and a piercing scream.
My mother's scream. I held my arms out to stop her but she broke free and ran towards the man now laying on the ground. I could her the other men in the room shouting vulgar words and my sister whimperingm but stayed frozen in my spot.
I heard another thump and knew that and my mom had dropped to the floor as well. Almost imediatley I jumped into action and threw the girl behind me onto my shoulders, running to a room and down the fire escape.
