The two of them went across the street, where there was a roadside dhaba that was open. They sat across from each other and ordered food. Anshuman was just watching her, in awe, until the food came. Parvati looked down self-consciously.
"Why are you looking at me?" she asked him.
"I don't know how anyone can be as crazy as you," he told her, with a small smile.
"Crazy?" she asked, looking up at him.
"Nobody waits day and night for someone to arrive. They just give up and go home," Anshuman informed.
'I can't give up on you... no matter how hard I try' she told herself in her head.
Instead, she said, "I just knew you would come."
"How did you know?" he asked.
"I don't know... the same way you knew that I'd still be here waiting for you," Parvati replied to him, a small smile on her lips.
Anshuman smiled at her, as if he knew exactly what she was talking about. There was a deep intuition that was completely illogical and senseless... but that deep intuition just knew that they had to believe in each other. That intuition overpowered their sense of logic and reasoning.
At least for now.
