Parvati caught up to him, but didn't say a word to him. She decided that she would keep her words limited to show him she was angry. Really, she wasn't mad. Inwardly, she was laughing at the joke... but the joke reminded her of the times they spent back in college, where he made fun of her, and how she would pretend to be mad the same way. For the sake of reliving those old memories, she feigned anger.

It was like everything was going back to how it used to be. It was like everything was happening again, but with an added touch... this time perhaps the hope would not be short-lived.

As soon as they left the hotel, they approached a canoe. In Venice, they got around the city in boats, as the entire city was on water. There was a captain, and the two of them.

Anshuman got onto the canoe first and held his hand out for Parvati to take. She took it and got on with him. They sat down together, as the captain began to steer.

"I see you've fixed your makeup," he told her lightly.

Parvati ignored him, pretending like she was upset. Anshuman reached over to her lap, where she had kept both of her hands clasped and took one of her hands.

"So this city is supposed to be romantic," he told her, intertwining their fingers. "We should do something romantic shouldn't we?"

Parvati looked up at him, in awe.

"You want to do something romantic with me?" she asked, shocked.

"I dunno. You seem to be mad at me," he replied.

"I'm not!" she said right away, her heart beating fast, at the thought of Anshuman being romantic with her.

Anshuman smirked and let go of her hand.

Parvati frowned.

"You were playing with my feelings to make me admit I wasn't mad at you?" she asked him.

"I wasn't playing with your feelings," he said with a small smile.

"You were," Parvati replied. "If you weren't, then how come you just let go of my hand?"

Anshuman leaned towards her and placed his lips over her ear, before whispering, "Because it feels weird to hold the hand of a ghost. You understand, don't you?"

Parvati's mouth dropped open, and she pushed him to the side, forgetting that they were on a canoe that was hard to balance. Anshuman fell back over the ledge, into the water.

"Anshuman!" she gasped.

Without thinking, she jumped off the boat to join him too.

She didn't know how to swim.
